Vicksburg

Short visit to Vicksburg; does anyone know if the database is current? Only time for 1 or 2 casinos; trying to decide between Ameristar and Riverwalk; any suggestions? Posting on Biloxi, Tunica and Louisiana site to see if anyone is familiar with the area. Thanks, RW.

i have not been there in awhile but the the last visit i would say the data base
is accurate. before you go you should call. all casinos in tunica are closed due
to high water. it is still raining and the river continues to rise.

Ameristar is the most popular and profitable casino in Vicksburg due mainly to their location. That said, they often offer the worst pay tables on VP because they don't have to. I haven't been there in months, but I believe Riverwalk has the most variety in VP machines and slightly better pay tables.

If you play in Vegas, you will be disappointed anywhere you go in MS.

Have to disagree with you.

When open ...

The only thing Tunica casinos do not have that Vegas casinos do, is sports books.

They have no VP paytables better than 9/6 JOB, but those machines are few and far between in Vegas.

Table games have equivalent rules, live keno is available, there is one live poker room.

There probably are not as many dining choices, and arguably there are no real "gourmet" fine dining restaurants.

Comps are relatively easy to obtain and promotions abound.

Nightlife is probably inferior in Tunica and there is a dearth of taxis to ease travel between casinos.

Am I missing something?

yes you are missing something. you are right about the strip but the downtown
and local casono's have full pay video poker. 4Queens , mainstreet casinohave
10.7 DB that pays more than 100% with perfect play. the palms just off the
strip has 10/7DB,10/6 DDB and full pay duces wild with 25 creditd for quads. all
the station casinos and sam's have 10/7 DB and full pay duces. i play video
poker exclusively but i never play on the strip. even Fitz downtown has 10/7 DB
upstairs.
