It's a question of working the system.
For some reason in all casinos table games EVEN ONES WITH WORSE ODDS
AND FASTER PLAY THEN VP will not get you the same comp level (be it
points on your card / cash back / offers) With VP / Slots you know
where you stand and what it takes to get what you want. Not to mention
there tends to be (at least with my play) a lot less volatility
playing JoB or BP then Craps or BJ.
$2 JoB at 600 hands an hour will get you 600 "Tier Points" at a
Harrahs joint. So thats $6000 of action getting you 600 points or as
stated 1 point per $10 with about 1/2 of 1% theo loss.
$100 a hand BJ at 90 hands in about an hour will get you 250 "Tier
Points" this is from a test I did last year. This is on a BJ game with
close to a 1% house edge. This works out to be 1 point per $36.

I get fascinated how many gamblers get so caught up in this whole
little world of tier points and diamond lounges and annual 7 stars
trips that they forget that other casino companies actually exist. The
loss of a 99.2% playing opportunity that most customers play at like
96.8% or less is no loss at all. I'm pretty sure there are in point of
fact other casinos in the State of Nevada, and they would be perfectly
happy to take your money. Still if you wanted to earn your all
important HET points this is no problem. If they don't want you to
play their precious video poker machines (and they don't or they would
have left something playable) you could match or exceed that same 99.2
by playing craps and taking full odds on your line bets. I think craps
is really fun, the only reason I like VP better is because it is
supposed to be beatable.
