Venetian/Strip comps

Best VP odds on the strip- hands down- is at the Casino Royale (across from
the Mirage).

It's a dive, though, and if you're used to the Venetian, you probably won't
like the accommodations.

Lots of younger people swilling the cheap beer they sell.

Interestingly, I have never had much luck there, but the pay tables are the
best on the strip.

I used to be a Harrah's Diamond member but stopped playing there when they
trashed the VP and let everything else go downhill. For the past few years
when I've stayed on the Strip I've gone to Venetian/Palazzo where I've
either gotten comped rooms or decent deals ($129 a night plus food/show/slot
credits). But the rumors of their eliminating comps other than to the
high-rollers seem to be true. When I asked about rooms for June, I was quoted the
same rate I could get thru any site online. And they said to be comped, it
would take 4-6 hours of $2 VP or $250 average bet at the tables. If they
had decent VP I might be able handle that, but not with the games they
offer.

I'll see if I get an e-mail offer for June, but otherwise we'll be
shopping around for the Strip part of our visit. Any ideas on other places on the
Strip? I remember Wynn being very tight. What about the MGM properties
these days?

I know Casino Royale well (triple triple triple cash!). I used to jokingly say that the Venetian should market the fact that CR is right next door (I did consider it a plus when staying at Venetian). I do like to play VP there, but in terms of rooms, I'm looking for something more high-end - something the wife will be excited about. So I'm wondering about room comps/offers at Bellagio, Aria, Mirage, Wynn, etc.
