Venetian slot club changes

At the Venetian a couple weeks ago, don't know how long their new slot
club rules have been in effect, but for the gold level (mid level) cash
back is now .08%. You can take it as a property gift card - which just
means comps - at .16%, or free play credits at .24%.

Though they've reduced cash back, their mailer offers are quite
consistent and quite nice with room, some food (though dinner can run
you $35 even at the food court !)and cash.

Any suggestions on places to play higher denomination vp - say $5 - and
get good cash back and good cash mailer offers? I've looked at the
Vegas index and there just doesn't seem to be much anymore - however,
that list really doesn't take into account the cash that comes with the
mailer offers. I'm just looking for a game that's at least break even
with good play - I don't really care if the bathroom tile is marble or
vinyl.

The days of the even marginally profitable $5 play are LOOOOOONG gone.
Occasionally, you'll read in one of Dancer's columns about how
something like a $5 NSUD play with .3 or better cashback might
occasionally pop up, but he only writes about such things after he's
played (and killed) them. The trouble is, $25000 coin-in ($5 max-coin
at high speed) translates into $37.50/hr, for instance, at FPDB with
no comps or cashback; $25/hr at FPJOB with double points when the
normal cashback is .3; and the aforementioned NSUD play with double
points @ .3 would be a hefty $75/hr. If you can handle the variance,
and have a humongous bankroll, these are very strong plays.

Which is why you don't see them any more. Exceptions (aka "mistakes")
do occur, but when that happens, the plays get swarmed, and burnt out.

You are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO wrong! 2007 was my second best year ever,
with many $5 and higher plays to be found. Many still exist in 2008. You
just have to know what to look for and go out and find them.

Publicizing these plays while they are still "alive" isn't smart for me
to do. (And I get criticized whether I "out" a play or keep it to
myself. Oh well. Since I'm going to be criticized whatever I do, I might
as well do what's best for me.) There are a larger number of players who
would like to play for these stakes than there are opportunities.
Announcing them is the same as giving these plays a death sentence.

Without a doubt I have played in many situations where the games no
longer exist. Sometimes I've hit one or more royals on these plays. As
have other players. Blaming one individual for killing a opportunity
that was played by many is a kneejerk reaction by those who don't
understand the entire picture.
