Venetian Comps (or lack of comps)

To clarify my statement, I have never and would never stay at a Casino on a comp and not give them any play.
Instead of giving them 100K play I would reduce it to 20-30K over (3) nts. At that amount of play it is a great value.
Unless I get some fabulous offers that require substantial paly, the 20-30K last year was sufficient to keep the room offers coming.

I'd be very careful if you think you can "burn" a casino of anything.
All offers are subject to cancellation at the casino's discretion.
Can this turn into a nightmare for you? Absloutely. I know of a
gentleman who thought he would enjoy a free weekend and "burn" the
casino. So, he proceded to just enjoy Vegas and not play.

Know what happened? At 3AM he got a phone call and a knock at the
door telling him he had 30 minutes to vacate the premises.

On another occasion, a lady at a Caesar's shopping event told me she
and her husband came in on a $2,500 certificate offer. He didn't
play "up to par". On the next morning when the shopping certificates
were distributed they didn't get one for $2,500 - they got none at
all.

I'm very "wary" when I have a losing session of where my points stand
for that trip. But, honestly, without a decent-sized loss or adequate
play the casino will not allow you to rip it off.

If you've been treated poorly, simply chalk it up to experience and
don't go back.

This is not true that they get to do what ever they want. They
terrify people into that, but if contested before gaming they often
lose. Many of these offers do not even have disclaimers allowing
them to "take back" their offers. The Venetian's often do which is
why I would never use them. Some casinos have lines like rated play
required during trip without saying how much. I put my card in the
machine, bet one cent on a penny slot and I have rated play. Believe
me after Harrah's just lost in a $3 energy surcharge case before the
California Supreme Court, the casinos are going to have to very wary
of running afoul of California's false advertising statutes - at
least as far as mailings to California.
