Definitely the Venetian is not the most generous on Food comps. I asked my
host recently if I could get RFB - she said that if I was in a room, that
would take up a lot of comps (of course - catch 22 - how do I get RFB if I am
not in a room!). So I booked 1 night at RFB. This was with a lot of play
there - just the same sort of play that gets me full RFB at Paris/Ballys.
If you ask the host for a comp, they lowball the amounts too. Without
staying at a room, I asked for a comp at Grand Lux and got $50. For Aquanox I got
$100 for a party of 2! I was told if it wasn't enough money to call back
and the host would up it - and in fact, they did. But they have NEVER given me
a FULL (eat your fill) type comp - even if I have heavy play (like 4 hours
on a $5 reel slot without having a room).
I asked about spa comps and was told they never give them.
On the other hand, Venetian does have some good slot tournaments and VP
tourneys which include room for 3 nights and decent reception buffet.
Also as a Local I was getting $100 per week for a month, mailings which
happen about 4 times a year. Over Xmas I got $200 for 2 weeks in a row. Now in
Jan. I got $200 a week for 4 weeks in a row! (Free Play).
Also cashback is pretty good if you are at the higher levels.
The best thing to do for food comps seems to be to try to cultivate your
host and then ask for a comp from them, rather than charging to your room
(unless you definitely have RFB).
