Venetian 9/6 JoB

I participated in a 2-day slot tourney at the Venetian which ended
today, and managed to place 67th for $100 in slot play. Walking
around by the Sands Slot Parlor/High Limit area, I noticed that they
had 9/6 JoB in $2/$5 denominations. There are 2 more slot tourneys
coming up in which I'm participating, so my guess is that these
machines will be around at least through Christmas.

I guess I'm not giving away anything that's best left unmentioned. I
can confirm Venetian has a bank of 10 machines outside the high limit
area with 9/6 JOB, single line on one side, 3/5 play on the other. $2
and $5 denominations.

Palazzo has at least 2 banks outside the high limit room with a dozen
or so machines available. Denominations are up to $25, and I think
single up to 10 lines.

All machines have JOB only. Free play isn't usable. I poked around in
the high limit room at the Venetian and saw no playable games. Didn't
check Palazzo's. All other previously downgraded games on both sides
of the Venetian/Palazzo complex remain downgraded, AFAICT.

The 3/5 play machines outside the Sands Slot (High Limit) Room at the
Venetian have $2/$5 denominations of 9/6 JoB. There are also
single-line 9/6 machines with denominations of $2/$5/$10/$25. I
didn't try my free play in those machines so I have no idea if they
are eligible for that. As is noted on the Venetian's page, these machines
have a habit of coming and going.

Perhaps the word "going" should be capitalized.

I encourage Vegas locals to take advantage of Venetian/Palazzo
opportunities if they fit in with your agenda.

But I simultaneously warn out-of-town players not to accept any offers
with the expectation that any of these machines will be full-pay during
your stay. Until Venetian stability (and sanity) is restored your time
and effort on excusions there is certainly at your own risk.

Excellent points Mikey. Unless of course you are
tired of the games - as I am. I am going to accept an
offer for the Stupor Bowl bash and meet some old
college buddies - and stiff 'em. The place is a bit
rich for my blood anyway.

mikeymic,
since you're a las vegas local have you heard whether the layoff of 200 at venetian included any hosts?

I'm not a local.

And, no, I have not heard the fate of any hosts. But I know of at
least one, however, who had been there well over 5 years and was
actively looking elsewhere and spending days off pursuing interviews.

My comments about machine inventory are from the perspective of an
out-of-town player who has limited time on trips to "explore", It
doesn't suit me for the Venetian to offer machines which were 9/6 two
days ago but are 8/5 now and maybe could change back in a day or two
but might not. I need a more "stable" inventory of good VP machines
because I am only around a few days. I'm willing to gamble on my luck
and skill but not on whether I'm at the casino the "right day" to get
a playable paytable.

And since Venetian offers now warn of "maintaining historical
average" while manipulating the very machines which generated that
average I no longer play or stay there.
