Stayed at Monte Carlo for the first time. Can't say enough about it,
nice place, comfortable, location, etc. Huge standard room &
bathrooms. Elevators = slow, otherwise no complaints.
Lots of VP options here, plenty of 8/5 BP, progressive 7/5 $1 BP was
up over $6500 so played some short bursts on that for small wins when
I felt like playing $, never came close to the royal though.
I brought $3200 with me, but this was a family trip and I never did
have time for serious play. So I limited my play to .25 and $1 BP
only. I didn't really progress up, I just played when I had some
free time, be it on .25 or dollar. I did record the results of every
session though, as always. Every session was a 100 credit buy-in and
I tried for minimum between a 15-20 credit win each time.
My results from that: 25 and 9, but a loss of $320. No quads, few
full houses, maybe 3 or 4. Lots of fun, played at MB, Lux, EX, NYNY,
Boardwalk, Bellagio, Mirage, Harrahs, Barbary Coast, Ballys, Paris,
Alladin.
Now it was time for live Texas Hold 'Em. My first time doing this
since I've been reading up for the past couple months. Played $2-$4
at Monte Carlo. This was FUN!!!! Bought in for $200, even though I
took down a $100 pot, I still dropped $150, but over a 4 hour
timespan. This is a great way to kill some time, and risk little
money. Lot's of BAD players at these low limit games. I see tons of
potential here with the live poker craze going on. I had bad luck,
lost a couple hands with pocket Aces, a King high FH, and trip
Kings. But the goal was to gain some casino experience so I played
tight and only got involved with really good hands. Mission
accomplished. Plus I don't feel so bad since I had family members at
the table so they have some of my money now, but they bought me
breakfast in the morning
In the morning before the flight, I tried to win the $150 back on $1
BP at Monte Carlo. I was lucky, held 2 4's, popped the other two for
exactly a $150 profit from the session and my first quad of the
weekend. Then, killing time I went to quarter progressives and
cashed out 3 more separate $10 winners before i left.
Fun time as always in Vegas! Weather was perfect, 80, VERY windy, so
much so that the Bellagio fountains were not running.
