The comp rates at the CAL are good if you are not choosy about the restaurant or trying to overdo it. I have never had a problem getting a coffee shop or MSS Station buffet comp as long as a reasonable amount of 25 cent play was on my card. I usually play at least 5K per day and have never been denied when asking nicely for a comp at the booth for the hosts about 25m from the slot club at the CAL. As for transportation, with the increased frequency of the 108 plus the 109 getting from the airport to downtown is very easy. Free shuttles from the CAL to SAM's Town as well. Never us ethe taxi's. They charge you $3 to get in, $22 wait time.hour in 20sec increments and frequently go a longer way than needed. If you have lots of bags from the airport, NEVER use a cab as they often rip you off taking the airport tunnel that adds $10-$12 to your fare. Use one of the shuttle services when you have bags and the buses when you don't.
The main thing, I have noticed is to have a good relationship with th ehost. If you don;t hav eenough play, take advantage of buffet specials, 2 for 1 coupons (plenty in the LVA coupon book) and meal costs will be minimal. It is more important to play the right machines (1005% properly than be concerned about whether a buffet that costs less than $5 after a coupon is comped. Good and careful play on a FPDW can be worse close to $10/hour from cashback, offers as a result, and beverages while playing (non alcoholic so that you still play alertly).
Also, very important, play as you enjoy it, not as a vulture that too many do that destroys the few good opportunities remaining!

timespan to get myself setup for future room offers. I'd like to set
myself up at a minimum of 2 casinos (not both downtown). I can
probably handle getting familiar with one other style of VP in order
