Vegas medical alert - trip to hell & back.

OH - MY - GOD, Jeep! I'm so glad for both of you that she's recovering, or
is (hopefully) fully recovered by now.

My wife is recovering. The doctors said she would be about 50% on day
of discharge and it would take a few months to be 100%. My wife seems
to agree. She's getting stronger every day. We returned home from Vegas
yesterday. We are fortunate to have my sister-in-law as a Vegas
resident. When family came into town they were able to stay at her
house. I chose to keep comp room untill my wife was discharged and then
my wife and I stayed with her sister. She was anxious to get out of
hospital and doctors thought it's not a bad idea to get out also. Can
pick up a lot of things in hospital.

For those who want to know the casino that we got steak and eggs, I
can't say. Since the doctors never said they could be sure of what
caused the illness it would not serve any good purpose to name the
casino.

I will mention this about U S Airways. We flew this trip on a miles
ticket. I was really happy to get my tickets to Vegas for $10 for each
ticket. As you might guess, the return ticket had to be canceled. I
only had to call later and reschedule flight home. "No problem", said
the ticket agent. When I called for flight home they said there was
nothing I could reschedule till late November. Had to have room on
plane for same class ticket. There were no empty miles seats left. I
begged and mentioned flights canceled because of illness. Didn't
matter. I wound up paying over $325 per person for a one way ticket
home. Once doctors said it was ok for my wife to fly, we wanted to get
out of town. Didn't want to wait for 7 day advance etc.

I rented my car from Dollar. A quick call to Dollar and rental was
extended. No problems there.

Cheers...Jeep
