Vegas and MS Trip reports - the law of big numbers ......

........and positive/negative E.V. games as well.
Arrive in Vegas on Wednesday night two weeks ago. Played positive
games (FP Double Bonus plus CB)in Vegas and Laughlin together with
over $1K in cash/gift cards through Sunday (4 day trip). By Sunday
morning, wife and I are down $3K including the $1K offer to visit
this (far-away) shangrila
Sunday drive to Rampart in Summerlin to play the bonus deluxe Mult-
Strike (about 99.8% if played perfectly plus .25% CB and other
goodies.
Its the crack cocaine of VP - Danger.
We are ahead by $1K and then I get a Royal at 25 cent on third line.
Leave Vegas ahead like $2K. So now we are down only $12K for year
(plus all the goodies).

Last Friday we go to MS for $50 cash each. Doing pretty good on
Pickem up like $500. Much against the Motherboards recommendations,
we go and gamble at the $1K 9/5 Multistrike. That's like 98.7%.
Played three lines to reduce variance (as I have been told at least).
Wife is dealt a Royal on second line. I saw the machine hold each
card automatically one at a time; make music and then simply go to
the third line and wait for her to draw
$8K ROYAL and we brought it all home. So now we are down only about
$4K for the year (plus all the goodies).

Grats on your royal!

I was there a week before you for the $200+ guaranteed drawing. Got
bored after a few hours of $1 Pick 'Em, so I switched over to Triple
Trouble for fun (that game with the 3 devils). A game that I
probably shouldn't be playing.

Played about 30 minutes; saw the bonus round only a couple times,
and when I did see it I ended up losing all 3 bonus hands. Hit the
bonus round a third time, lost the first 2 hands, was dealt 3-to-a-
royal on the last one, hit deal, and turned to my friend to
say "ANOTHER bonus round where I lost all 3 hands". Before I could
speak, the machine started buzzing, and I looked back to see a
$12,000 royal in the bonus round!!

No idea what the odds are on that, since I don't know the frequency
that the bonus rounds appear. Was pretty nice, though. I was on a
pretty bad losing streak for the year, so this pretty much just made
me even.

On another note - anyone notice the live poker tables over by the
Hall of the Lost Tribes? They had just installed them the night
before I arrived. They're completely automated; a computer deals
the cards, and you see all the action on a large LCD screen in the
middle of the table, and smaller individual touchscreen LCDs (for
your hole cards & to make bets). Had a lot of fun playing $1/$2 no-
limit for 1-2 hours against some really bad poker players. Ended up
winning about $500.
