Variety is the Spice....

Greetings

I recently rekindled my love/hate affair with blackjack. I still make my
frequent donations to the DDB Adios Dinero Memorial Fund but after many
moons of playing video poker what is left of my brain cells needed a de version
before they blinked off altogether.

This of course begs the question what do my fellow(no chauvinistic slight
intended) gamers do in terms of casino play to relieve themselves of the
possible boredom(?) you may sense creeping into the fiber of your very being?

I like Let it Ride, 3-card Poker and 4-card Poker.

Behind VP, craps and three card poker are 2nd and third in on my casino selections. As a recreational player,I tend to play the games which I consider the most thrilling and fun. Blackjack is somewhat boring to me because of too many years of play in my past. I of course know that I am long term loser and have no problem accepting that fact since I go to the casino to have fun.

I play craps, behind vP, because my eyes get tired after looking at cards for so long.
I don't have to pay attention in craps, just make a bet.

$2-$4 limit Texas holdem- is beatable, even with
the rake, with a little luck. Nothing big. Slow and steady can net a $couple hundred over a few hours.

When I get really bored playing video poker I call Robert De Niro and
Chrrisopher Walken and we sit down to a friendly game of Russian Roulette. Talk
about high stakes gambling......LOL

A question on relieving boredom, Cool!

Well I find all things casino gaming related, dull as dirt. No, I take that back. I used to like to play in the dirt.

Gambling is a way to make money. If you aren't making money doing it, it is a waste of time AND money. If you are making money at it, then you can spend that money on something fun.

Here's what I do:

1. Play D&D
2. Square Dance
3. Sword Fight
4. Read a lot of science magazines.
5. Cook my own gourmet Indian Food from scratch
6. Watch a lot of science shows.
7. Pet my cat (Bocu De Chat)
8. Post on vpFREE (which is fun most of the time)
9. Hiking / camping
10. Dinning out at new restaurants
11. Writing comedy for my radio show
12. Reading novels
13. Petting my other cat (Fukui San)

Anyway...if you are bored, you should not gamble to fill the dead time. I can't advocate doing something addictive, pointless and costly as a time filler.

I only advocate professional gambling as a way to make money, either as a career or a second job. "JOB" is the key word here. You work your job, so you can spend your free time doing something fun.

Every book I have read on the subject, suggests that if you enjoy gambling and find it fun, it is the signs of a potential gambling addiction issues. (THIS IS NOT MY OPINION--IT'S SOMETHING I READ)

Please read the book "Best Possible Odds" if you disagree.

I will play almost anything! I also go to casinos to have fun. I do not plan on leaving my $$ to my family who expect to be left $$.

I no longer smoke, so I no longer play BJ...nothing to do between deals.

Who is the author of "Best Possible Odds"?

William G. McCown (Author), Linda L. Chamberlain (Author)

It's one of the most amazing books I've ever read in scope, depth, and insight. It's not cheep, and worth every penny. I own three copies. I lend two out, and use the other for reference from time to time.

I'm also trying to get the author on my radio show. Would anyone like that?

So, why do you not like petting Fukui San as much as you like petting
Bocu De Chat?

The more you read other people's stuff, the less room in your own brain
there is left for independent thought.
