Hey looking through the glossary it says that pickem's have the lowest
variance. I'm not sure I understand that, I can see for the versions
that pay double for two pair why that would be, and they all come in
lower than the rest. Anyone care to explain why the pickem's come in
so low. Also speaking of mysteries why is JW2 in the glossary
described as 2 pair JW when the description says that there is only
one joker in the deck? Why 2 pair, what 2 pair, what are they talking
about?
variance
Variance: A function of the payout and the probability of getting
that payout. In this case, there is a pretty good payout for 1 pair
or 2 pair, and the probability of getting a royal is very low, and the
combination results in low variance.
The 2-pair in 2-pair JW refers to the payout. You get your bet back
with 2-pair. This compares to standard Joker where you can get your
bet back with a pair of kings or better.

On JW2 machines the lowest payoff hand is for two pair. On JWKB
(Joker Wild Kings or Better) the lowest payoff is made for ONE pair of
Kings or Aces.
