Has anybody visited the casinos in Vancouver, Canada?
It doesn't look like any of the casinos there have Video Poker, just
slot machines and table games. Can anybody lend any insight?
Vancouver, Canada Casinos
The casinos in Vancouver have the worst paying VP I've ever seen.

In the Chicago Area the Majestic Star in Gary IN is by far the
strongest play under the $1 level. There have been a few downgrades
their lately but still about 200 machines with 9-6 jacks or higher
paying games than that. I here that the Don and Mike bar is going to
be remodeled. The progressives in there are often the best plays in
the place since the 25c version has 9-6 jacks and the $1 version has
180-80 one eyed jacks wild (99.98% at reset but the most difficult of
all strategies.), 25-12 DBDW (99.81% at reset) and 9-5 Triple Bonus
Plus (99.80%) at reset. Other 99.9%+ games available. Cashback is
only 0.1%. At the $1 level Majestic Star is still the strongest but
there are a few other reasonable $1 plays noteably the Empress in
Joliet IL and the Grand Victoria in Elgin IL.

I would avoid gambling in Canadian casinos. It's known as government sanctioned robbery. I
know, I live here! There were a few good paytables here but now they are gone and the comp
and cashback system is dismal. If you can imagine what the odds are like here then your best
bet is to play roulette.

The pay tables are so bad that at Fraser Downs the VP machines were
programed to tell you which cards to hold. Players were overriding the
programmed holds and making their own choices. Must have been using
some astrology based strategy not available to anyone else on the
planet. Better to bet on the nags at this casino which is a sideline
to the track activities.
