Value of Progressives which Reset Frequently?

I've noticed, at several Las Vegas casinos, progressives for hands
such as Wild Royal Flushes. In any form of deuces-wild game, this
will tend to be hit about every 500 hands; value does not often get
as high as 10% above "reset".

Even so, such a progressive must have a small positive value.
Probably too small to justify any strategy changes, but large enough
to have some influence upon choice of games.

Basically similar comments would apply to progressives for selected
four of a kind and/or straight flushes. (Some of which do become
large enough to justify strategy changes, altho it's questionable
whether the gains are worth the trouble).

Has anyone developed a way to calculate the change in ER?

given average cycle time and meter rate, figure out the average value
(average value is average hit + reset /2)
if you want you can iterate, because changing the average value
changes your cycle time, but the effect is small or none at all
or just consider the meter rate as a form of cashback
you might also notice some people playing fast at certain values then
playing real slow or not at all when it hits, waiting for the value to
get back up (flush attack strategy)

Easiest change to remember is at the $1 10/7 DB...when 4 Aces is at
$805 or higher...if dealt two pair, with aces...hold only the pair of
aces.

I can tell you, that, according to BDWinPoker, where I re-programmed
the Loose Deuces plan to simulate a NSUD prog. (which they still had
at the PEPP,in Reno, last August in .25 denom.)that strategy changes
are definetly required when the 4 deuces exceeds $325 (which it did
repeatedly, when I was playing in the PEPP. In fact, I hit the
deuces for $410 during one LOSING session on a $3200 RF prog.)
Anyway, I have my BDWP LD set for a $3200 RF & a $325 4 Deuces
payoff. My "warn" system is always on. The program warns me ALWAYS
to hold WAK, WAQ. WAJ, & WA10, contrary to most regular deuces
strategy. I don't remember the difference in EV, but if you're
interested, I'll look it up tonight and post it tomorrow.
Also, with this RF payoff, when you don't come in with a deuce, you
hold ANY suited RF2 cards, including A10!

Hope this helps some.

This is what happens when you try to do 2 things at once, while the
phones are ringing!

So sorry about the above nonsense. Of course, I meant to reference
the Wild Royal, NOT the 4 Deuces. The above mentioned strategy
changes occur when the Wild Royal payoff is 175 rather than 125.

The 4 deuces hold strategy changes only very slightly in that there
are a few more hands where you hold two bare deuces, than in regular
Non-Prog. NSUD.
