Valley View Questions

1) Is it easier to get to Valley View driving across and around from Escondido? Or can you drive starting from Pechanga (passing by Harrahs Rincon along the way) without the curves making you crazy?

2) Is it hard getting to play the video poker machines listed in the database?

3) What are the best hours for going to the buffet if you don't want to stand in line a long time?

Thanks,

Mikey

1. It's not easy to get to Valley View any way. I don't think those curves will drive you crazy. It's pretty curvy coming out from Escondido, as well. You might want to consider riding in on their bus?

2. No, I had no problem in playing the games I wanted. Sometimes you have to wait a little.

3. There are no times that the Buffet doesn't have a long line, at least none I've seen. Even about 4:30 PM on a weekday, about a 90 min line.

The drive from Pechanga to Pala is curvy and dark, but only 8 miles.
From Pala to VV is 18 miles. Nice scenery, very dark at night but no
problem to drive.

The most popular games are almost always busy, yes.
Come Wednesday and you probably won't get to play till the drawing is over.

Buffet line has improved a lot. Used to be up to two hour wait (for
elites!), now rarely more than 30.
If it's really bad they'll give you a pager, so check in before you start to
play.
Best time to go: just before closing (9:30 P.M.) but beware -- ta ra ra boom
de yay, they take the food away -- early.
Buffet is still the best anywhere in So Cal by far, so it's worth a little
effort.

It's definitely CLOSER to drive from Escondido, and THRU Valley Center, rather than from Pala/State RT. 76 side.

PS - Be CAREFUL if you try the LAKE WOLHFORD Rd.
Slightly shorter, but recent rains have caused some mudslides and may have even caused road to be closed for repairs!

BUFFET times: Even LUNCHTIMES are crowded, due to their marketing.
ALSO - BUSSED in groups pack that lunch buffet daily, and probably add to the DINNER crowds as well!

I found the least amount of waiting times (30 min. or less) to be within an hour of opening times, i.e. before 4:30-5:00 pm for dinner.
By then the EARLY bussed groups are gone, but evening groups start arriving after 5 pm....

Martin.
