From discussions with friends, it seems the standard tip has gone to $2. I
certainly see people duking them $5 and sometimes more but hey, YMMV.

I usually tip when im dropping of the car and I find this to be
beneficial in keeping the car close by the pick up area when im ready
to leave. This really only applies to the large strip casinos. Just
the other day I went to Venetian and gave the guy 3 at drop off and
the car stayed 50 feet from the pickup. I tipped 5 at pickup because
I recieved my car in less than a minute with a line in front of me. I
find a $2-$3 tip at pick up from local joints is fine since the wait
is normally short and they dont have to run far. I think a valet does
a little more work than a cocktail waitress bringing a drink so a
buck is a little short. I think any tip is better than no tip so do
what you think is right. Ive been seeing too many stiffs lately

I had $3 in my hand when I pulled up to Caesars valet in my rental car from the airport. As the valet got my bag out of the back seat, he noticed my awesome NFL jacket I was wearing. As he handed me the ticket, he said "Packers suck" and with my skilled slight of hand, I peeled away 2 of the bills and handed him a well deserved dollar.
