Flamingo Hilton, Ballys, and Paris have now all merged with Harrahs.
Caesar's is the only Park Place not fully merged.
However a visit to Paris showed some confusion with points not yet being
fully transferred over. The slot club in Paris has moved over to near check-in
(I believe Bally's is also moved). Upon entering my Harrah's slot card, my
Paris/Bally's comps showed up, but not my Harrah's points. They were also
unable to print me a new card at first. However after more typing, suddenly all
my Harrah's points transferred over and they were able to print me a new
card - now with my Harrah's number.
The old Bally's/Paris/Park Place cards no longer work at Paris or Bally's -
you must get a Harrah's card or presumably use one if you have one (try it to
make sure it works). Presumably the same is true for Flamingo Hilton
THE REALLY BAD NEWS - is that a host told me that although I am coming into
Bally's as Full RFB (room, food, beverage), under the new Harrah's system they
will take the comps from my accumulated total accrued comps (now Bally's and
Harrah's combined). It may be that if I deplete my comp account to zero,
they will then fully comp me. I'm going to try to do this as best I can by
buying a Simon Visa card with points to see what happens (though I may still end
up with a balance of Harrah's comps).
MORE BAD NEWS - Normally I've been getting $1000 shopping spree and about
$800 for a cashbash weekend at Bally's Paris. Usually the host is able to push
the $800 cashback up to $1000 after an adjustment. But for Feb., my mailer
was for a $250 shopping spree and $700 cashback. My host is checking to see
if this is adjustable, or if Harrah's is slashing it's shopping sprees.
The end result may be that I will cut way back on my Paris/Bally play if
they are cutting back on my goodies! I don't yet know what the normal cashback
situation will be there, but I can only assume the worse at this point - a
great reduction down to Harrah's paltry levels.
I expect the annual Xmas cash bonus to be a goner too.
