He was moved from intensive care today into a regular room - and if he is
feeling as feisty tomorrow as he did today, he probably will be released
(kicked out?). In fact, the doctor has given tentative approval for us keep
our plans to fly to Indiana March 25-April 1. He will need to take it
easy for a month, mainly to let the groin wound heal where the catheter was
inserted into an artery. Then we will start back into the same exercise
program we have been on for 18 years - long brisk walks, and more recently a
lot of swimming in our condo pool - good for the osteoarthritis Tom has in
the lower back and I have in the knees. We neither one plan to grow old
gracefully - we're fighting it to the end!!!!

So many have asked about Steve, my son-in-law. His unit at Fort Drum is all
packed up, including brand new gas masks, ready as soon as they get "the
word" to go to God knows where to fight God knows whom/what for. So I will
also include updates on the "Calendar" on his duty whenever I know
something new. Angela is a good Army wife and, after 10 years, has accepted
the many separations - but this is very hard on her - all the uncertainty -
all the talk about chemical weapons. Those of you who believe in the power
of prayer, and many expressed this recently in their posts about Brad, might
want to add Steve and all the soldiers like him to your prayer list.
Sometimes it is easier to pray when you have a name or a face instead of
just scary headlines.
Again, thanx for all your notes and expressions of concern. We will never
forget everyone's wonderful support.
