Up or Down Or Even Bound ?

Howdy

I attempted a similar post some time ago and was greeted with a mild
paranoia because of the possibly of the IRS factor. My question is simply ...in the
long run this year or lifetime (at this point) playing a full play video
game... are you up or down or even bound? The popular Rob Singer believes that
just about everyone who plays the "guru's" prescribed vp strategy looses money
in the long run. Is this true in your case?

We have won every year since we started playing VP, except one and it was a very small loss - several hundred dollars, more than compensated by about $20-$30,000 worth of comps. And except for that one year, we have paid taxes on our winnings every year. (We do not count comps - the IRS has made it clear in court decisions that comps do not need to be counted as income). We haven't been overjoyed to pay taxes on our winnings - it decreases our EV - but then I am always glad I have income on which to pay taxes.

Of course, Rob Singer says I am lying. But I always wondered why he expects everyone to believe him - but that no one should believe me. However, I lose no sleep over this puzzle - my conscience is clear.

We have a similar experience, only one year with a loss since
starting this VP odyssey a few years ago. When we first started
gambling, about 10 years ago, we played slots and lost most of the
time. We soon got tired of that scenario and looked for a better
gamble. VP became the game of choice since we are both introverts
and neither of us enjoy the social interactions of table games.

So far this year we are well into the right side of the bell curve
although we moved somewhat toward the center on our recent visit to
LV.
