I had a rather nice night this morning (some of you know this makes sense) as I headed to the cage with 10 or so tickets totaling $5,500. The cashier asked for my Total Rewards number and wrote it down. Why would they do this?

Probably because the total was high enough that they want to keep track for government reporting if you had some more tickets later and went over the 10K threshold. I've had the same request from other casinos when trying to cash tickets that were over $1,200.
