Prior to our recent trip to Las Vegas, I practiced All American Poker
a lot.
Having done so, and having tried to eliminate as many of those error
messages as I could, I have to disagree with Harry Porter's statement
(message #28452), that "if there's another card in the hand suited
the same as the jack, you hold ace-jack, otherwise you hold only the
jack".
Here's what I've found works.
Draw to the jack alone, except as follows:
1. if there's an off-suit(to the jack) nine in the hand, draw to the
ace-jack.
2. if there's a low card (six and under) suited with the jack,
AND either an off-suit seven, eight, or ten, draw to the ace-jack.
3. if you have a seven suited with the jack, draw to the ace-jack.
4. if you have a card higher than a seven suited with the jack,
draw to it and the jack.
