Howdy

I am one those players that must straddle a machine in order to make myself
somewhat comfy while playing VP. I was stationed at an end bandit and had
placed my drink to the left at the corner. Of course it was far enough away from
my foot as not to have a spilling accident.

The job of the attractive beverage servers includes returning the abandoned
glasses when ever they come upon them. Well, as I was pounding away a
Playboy- like server picked up my half filled liquid refreshment as if to cart
it
off. "Wow" I said, I am not finished. "How was I to know it was yours" she
replied, as if she was Miss Perfect . It wasn't that close to you" "You could
of
asked" I shot back annoyed at her demeanor.

I wanted to take her over my knee and spank her which at the moment replaced
my fantasy of hitting a Royal Flush.

Seriously, would you report an employee who you found less than courteous or
just let it slide...which I chose to do?

I don't need to straddle, but I often put my beverage on an adjacent machine to avoid spilling it. I agree that the servers should, and usually do, ask before removing a nearby drink. But it's not a major service issue to me. Therefore, my opinion...

One small incident like this, let it go. More serious incident, tell someone in a supervisory role - with the remark that "she might just be having a bad day, but I thought you should know in case this sort of thing happens with her a lot. If not, I certainly wouldn't want to get her in trouble for this one occurrence."

If you feel like the particular incident is a problem, don't "tell on" the specific employee, but just mention to the supervisor that "once" one of the employees did this, and do they ever tell their servers (ALL of them, not just this one) that they should ask before removing a drink, AND that if they make a mistake, to apologize (even if it's not their fault), rather than say "How was I to know?".

Management will NOT be able to train / re-train / upgrade their service people if not made aware of these problems, and should use good judgement not to inappropriately discipline a single episode, but they also need to know if someone's a repeat offender, and if no one says anything, they can't fix the problem.

ONLY to that extent, we share some of the responsibility for good service.

Oh, yeah, and use rewards too - tip the good service extra.
