Unfriendly Behavior By Employee

Howdy

I am one those players that must straddle a machine in order to make myself
somewhat comfy while playing VP. I was stationed at an end bandit and had
placed my drink to the left at the corner. Of course it was far enough away from
my foot as not to have a spilling accident.

The job of the attractive beverage servers includes returning the abandoned
glasses when ever they come upon them. Well, as I was pounding away a
Playboy- like server picked up my half filled liquid refreshment as if to cart it
off. "Wow" I said, I am not finished. "How was I to know it was yours" she
replied, as if she was Miss Perfect . It wasn't that close to you" "You could of
asked" I shot back annoyed at her demeanor.

I wanted to take her over my knee and spank her which at the moment replaced
my fantasy of hitting a Royal Flush.

Seriously, would you report an employee who you found less than courteous or
just let it slide...which I chose to do?

i'm guessing your fantasy makes up for any slight that might have

It depends on how rude they are or how pervasive it is throughout the whole casino. If it's a one-time incident I'd probably just let it slide. However, I had one incident at a small Missisippi casino, where almost ALL of the dealers were extremely rude -- not just to me, but to everyone. I wrote the headquarters of that particular chain and also wrote the head of casino operations at that particular casino. They offered me comps and all kinds of stuff, but I wasn't interested in going back there EVER. That's how bad it was. I don't know if my complaints improved the conditions there at all, but at least it gave me some satisfaction.

I'd say let it slide. It's always more satisfying to be the bigger
person anyway.

One day playing at a bartop, I hit a $2K jackpot. Even though the
bartender hadn't asked me once if I needed anything for the hour and
a half since his shift started (he was too busy watching ESPN), I
tipped him $10. I'm not sure if he expected more or if he was upset
that I tipped each of the slot attendants doing the handpay more, but
he started bad mouthing me to the other person at the bar.
Unfortunately for him the other person at the bar was a friend of
mine, so he told me what the bartender said. Basically the bartender
told my friend that I barely tipped him on a $2K jackpot, and that he
hopes I bust out. He also proudly told my buddy that I won't be
getting anything to drink from the bar as long as he is working
(which is funny since he never asked even before all this happened).
When my friend told me what the bartender was saying, I just left. I
don't need to be around that negativity.

People like that are just miserable people, and they don't need any
help becoming more miserable. For the most part their attitude and
actions just create more misery for them by creating situations that
are only going to hurt them. In this example, I'm more generous than
average when it comes to tipping. His actions only made me avoid
playing during his shifts so all those tips that he would have gotten
now go to other people.

So, like I said, I would just let it slide. Their bad attitude and
actions are already being rebuked by the smaller amount of tips they
get because of it.

True of many ... but when it comes to some others ...

What was the name of the bar? I'm sure the members of
the group would like to make sure that they don't
support it either.

10 days ago I hit a bar top progressive at the Orleans for $4766. I was drinking B&B and asked the bartender for a refill while waiting for the hand pay. He gave my non empty snifter a generous refill. So I tipped him an extra dollar. I quit tipping for hand pays years ago:-)
Next night I even brought the snifter back but the same bartender said he could not pour doubles. Hmmmmmmmmm

Btw, I held QJT of diamonds and another Queen which I sacrificed. I tried to get Bob D. to give me the approximate break point in class two days later but he waffled:-)

And that Tuesday evening Wild Bill and I went to the only adults only hockey game I have ever heard of at the Orleans Arena. Face-off was at 9:05 PM local time.

Waffled, huh? I understand that Joe didn't mean this as serious
criticism, but what Bob D. ACTUALLY said was it depends on exactly which
RF3 you're talking about, which high pair (in certain games), and the
suit and rank of the fifth card. At the time Joe seemed to be looking
for a one-size-fits-all rule, and my mind doesn't work that way.
Furthermore, I don't have the set of breakpoint numbers memorized for
ANY game, so I can hardly pull one out on demand.

Joe,

Are you still taking snifters from bars? No wonder
there aren't any left in the whole city. How many
snifters do they let you take through security at the
airport?

I've only had problems with the one bartender. The other bartenders
I've met there are very nice, so I wouldn't want to discourage people
from going there as that would hurt the nice ones too. But if you (or
anyone else for that matter) really want to know, send me a private e-
mail and I'll tell you.

Geesh, yes, I was kidding, but........... I seem to remember the following words in one of your columns, Bob, "I memorized all the break points beforehand" which memory actually triggered my question. I did NOT expect you to have the breakpoint for my particular case at the tip of your tongue:-)
