Unexpected Suncoast Mailing - Are they worried about Red Rock?

I guess the Suncoast is still worried about the Red Rock stealing its customers. I am sure they are well aware that we only live about a mile from either casino. Today, both Steve and I received an unexpected extra 3 coupons worth $90. The first for $30 at any Suncoast restaurant June 20 - July 20, the 2nd and 3rd for $30 of free play - one for June 20 - July 4th, the other for July 5 - July 20th.
Both Steve & I still like playing at the Suncoast even though NSUD is their best game. We like to play at the Sports bar where we know practically every bar tender and never wait more than 1 minute for a drink after we first sit down! They always refill our drinks before we are even close to running out.
Even though NSUD is a negative game the comps seem to make up for it. The regular monthly mailer by itself is easily worth $100 (3 freeplay coupons @ $25 each + 1 $25 restaurant coupon). Also there is coupon worth up to $50 per person for 2 at one of their weekly showroom events (This month Joe Sample, Sha Na Na, Connie Stevens or Jack Jones). Also, this months mailier includes 30 free drawing tickets for this months special drawings (Each week participants win up to $20000 for each of the 20 Thursday drawings - ten at 2:00p the other ten at 8:00p).
As far as the Red Rock is concerned, I guess we have not quite warmed up to them yet. The first month after it opened it was very crowded and noisy with very spotty cocktail service. Now that seems to be better. It is less crowded and cocktail service seems adequate. But if you go after dinner to the bank we prefer to play at is still very noisy due to the band playing in the Roche lounge. It is a very upscale looking casino but the restaurants seem to be much more expensive than the other Stations Casinos we are used to. Also, we NEVER seem to win anything there!

Well, at least I now have heard why locals play negative games when
they could just as easily be playing 100% games. Anyway, the
Suncoast should be worried. Informed sources tell me their business
is off 20% to 30%. If they think that just replacing the carpet will
help them compete, they better think again. To me, it's no contest.
10/7 DB with 3X points at Red Rock versus 9/7 DB at Suncoast with 2X
points only on Thursdays? Makes the decision pretty easy.

We don't play the 9/7 DB at the Suncoast -- we play NSUD, which is about .6% higher EV. And the 3X points at Red Rock are only good for .25% comps, while 2X points at Coast are good for .6% cashback or comps (or 1.2% comps when they run half-point promotions). The Coast monthly coupon sheet adds 1% for the first $10,000 coin-in per month, not counting the show tickets and extra double-point days. I only play at Red Rock in the early morning hours, so I can hear myself think -- no problem at Suncoast these days!

There is no decision for west siders to make the red rock is a slam
dunk over suncoasts half court shot. I dont care how many 2x point
days you have. the coast casinos 99.9% high variance $1 jokers just
dont get the job done.

As I said many times over its much easier to recognize a FP schedual
than to beat a FP schedual.

and its cheaper to maintain a customer base than to rebuild a
customer base.

When did the SunCoast start giving 1%? When I quit playing them they only
gave two $25 coupons for $10,000 play.

I don't keep detailed records of such things, but I am sure it's been quite a few months that I've received 3 $25 free play, one $25 restaurant coupon (1% right there for $10,000), plus show tickets (about $100 worth) and two extra double-point days. Trouble is -- tonight I had the $25 in free play -- lost that and an additional $115 -- had nothing better than a few straight flushes playing .25 NSUD -- ouch! I wasn't even there very long! Maybe tomorrow...
