npf125 complained about Harrah's: Neither reflects the $100k+ coin-in at
Caesar's this year which qualifies for Diamond status.
Got any Connection Club points left? If this is any indication better
cash them out in a hurry.
I don't believe your conclusion is justified. Caesars Palace points
won't be merged into Harrah's Total Rewards until Valentine's Day. At
that time, according to http://www.harrahs.com/merger/faq.html, you will
be mailed a check for any unredeemed cash back and your Caesars comp
points will roll over into Total Rewards. I personally redeemed all of
my Connection Club cash when I collected by Christmas bonus from
Bally's, but would not have made an extra trip to do so.
I don't believe Harrah's ever promised Diamond status in 2005 for play
at Caesars. It's likely that Npf will be awarded Diamond status when the
points are merged, but I'm not sure. Usually its a calendar-year
qualifying process at Harrah's and I don't know for sure how they are
going to reward 2005 Caesars play in 2006. It's no surprise to me that
the Diamond status hasn't been awarded BEFORE the points are merged.
Merging unlike databases together is not a trivial process. Currently
Harrah's IT department needs to be concerned with Bally's/ Paris merging
on January 17, and Bally's AC merging on February 7. Those deadlines are
more immediate than the February 14 date for Caesars Palace.
Whether Npf gets awarded Diamond status in February based on his 2005
Caesars play has absolutely nothing to do with whether one should cash
out Connections Club points before February 14.
