I didn't realize how the Ultimate X scam really worked. I thought someone showed newbies the game, and got multipliers to show up (which the scammer would later play...having a multiplier give you an advantage at Ultimate X).
But that isnt the only scam. So I wasnt prepared when A smooth operator came up to me at the Palms, talkingin a friendly manner. Then he mentioned there was a "glitch" in ultimate x where u could be dealt quads, did I know of it? I didn't know what he was talking about. He offered to show me if I "kept it under my hat" and he'd made a lot of money off it, and his friend was a slot tech who had told him about it. He sat down next to me, and I thought he was about to play, but he said, go to the first "square" on the main menu, pointing to my machine, play 50 cents....and so I did (3 play bonus poker). "Play a hand" he said. (I was ahead at this point by several thousand from $1 DDB play at this point, Id been playing Ultimate x for hours when he showed up) ......so I did.
" If you win at least 25 credits, go back to main screen, and play the next square (5 play bonus)"
I won more than I lost, so I did, asking the guy how this glitch could be in this brand new version of ultimate x, and he said all ultimate x machines had glitch.
I was suspicious, but what the heck, I wasn't losing. I won more, "play the next box" he said (10 play bonus". "now the next".... (3 play deuces). I didnt win at least 25 credits, so hit it again, and up popped deuces at 2x (I was suddenly $1000 ahead).
Suddenly I realized what was going on, he was filling up the machine with multipliers.
But I was winning, and I didn't intend to leave any unplayed multipliers. So hit the next box (5 play deuces).... Up comes a dealt quad.....8s or something.... Not much....but what the heck.....
meanwhile the guy is talking into a phone, checking a phone, saying he had to meet his mOm who was playing, at midnight, any minute. I guess this was the excuse as to why he wasn't playing this wonderful system, but I dont think there was a Mom.... What Mom of probably 80 years, eats at midnight, even in a casino?
I hit the next box, (10 play deuces), up comes a dealt quad with a deuce (dealt 5 of a kind).
I'm winning, so what the heck, I keep playing, next box, next box, on down the screen.
guy is telling me to switch to $1 when I finish with 50 cents. He is still "waiting to eat with Mom". Checking his phone.....
That's too rich for me to keep going on with the pretense. I now tell guy "well I now have to go back and play off all those multipliers, that is where u make money in Ultimate x"
I finish off the sequence of boxes (different multiplay games on the screen)....
So I go back to square one, bonus poker, and play until there are no wins, and thus no multipliers, then box 2 (5 play bonus), then box 3....etc. all the way down through all the games. it takes awhile, but I do it. I wasn't going to leave even one multiplier for this guy.
I'm still over $1000 ahead since starting this.
Finally the guy realizes what I'm doing. I finish wiping out all the multipliers, double checking that they are all gone. He leaves "to eat with Mom.".
I now go back to $1 DDB triple play which I'd been playing when he showed up. I'd been about to leave when he showed, but now I'm over $1000 ahead from his "advice" plus whatever I'd been ahead to start with.
I play a few more minutes on Ultimate X $1 triple play DDB.. And suddenly I hit for 3s with kicker for over $6000! By delaying my exit, he'd inadvertently given me a great hit by random luck.
I play a bit more, and finally leave. I'm up about $11,000 for the night. One of my best days ever at VP.

PS. -- strangely enough, I had hit dealt quads twice while doing the guys system......but I don't think this was anything but dumb luck. The best bet with ultimate x is always to wipe out the last multiplier before u leave a game.
