First, I'm a casino hustler, not a scam artist. I don't pick on the Gentiles. I wouldn't get that tarnish on my chrome finish. I use legitimate strategy and all available information to beat the casinos. I have no idea what the bottom-feeding hustler described in this post was up to, but I'm sure it was no good. If he were to come around me I would tell him to get lost.

Second, I like the Ultimate X play as described in this thread. I haven't put a foot in Nevada in 4 1/2 years and the game wasn't out then. But if I were there you can bet I would be picking on the Ultimamte X. I just went to Videopoker.com and played the game to see what's up. It's a super strong play and those who have been exploiting it have my congratulations for being on the ball.

And I'm sure there are a lot of hustlers in Las Vegas who are not to happy that the play made it on to vpFREE.

Hey Mickey. That play has been known for quite some time and Im sure it being on this forum wont make it any worse. Ive had random people that know Im an AP, or someone that knows how to play, come up and tell me about it quite a few times. Ive actually had a couple people tell me about multipliers left on the machine but they had to leave and figure they would let me know about it. I was a little curious about their intentions but I actually saw the people leave the casino so I dont think it was some kind of hustle. Ive never took them upon the advice because I really dont like multi line games. I thought it was strange but I guess some people have a good nature.

If the hustlers are not happy about the information on this forum then they should stop reading it. After all, that's what the forum is for: "The discussion and exchange of information about video poker".

RWHANNU, I'm not really tickled to death by your comment. I've never ever exploited a malfunctioning machine. In the words of the Cincinnati Kid I don't have to cheat to win. I passed on every opportunity to cheat the casinos. Why would I jeopardize my ability to make a good living outsmarting them with legitimate strategy?

Case in point, I once stuck a $10 bill in a dollar denom advantage slot at the Riverside in Laughlin. It racked up 200 credits. Some mechanic had put a nickel bill acceptor in a dollar machine. This was before TITO. Now, a bad cheat would just empty the hopper, take a fill or two and leave the machine. A good cheat would play for the hand pays, avoiding the fills. What did I do? I called an attendent over and told her they had a problem with the machine. Someone from slot operations came out. I told him what the problem was and asked him for my $10 back. "Sure, no problem for an honest guy like you" he said.

Just because I know how it's done doesn't mean I do it. Like I said, I don't have to cheat to win.

Ultimate X will likely survive being exposed here. But lot's of plays haven't. And it goes back a long time. I remember a deuce play about ten years ago at River Palms that got squashed the day after it was posted here. Of course, VV, you can always lead by example and post your plays up here.

the "hint" about ult-X leftovers was from a Wizzard of Odds article about 2 years ago. Now, for new places, its been mostly slim pickins, with the lucrative places already jobbed by hustlers
who will quickly point this out to you, if you decide that you want a piece of their turf !

Hmmm. I think the definition of the words "cheat" and "legitimate"
may be rather vague. Getting $200 in credits for a $10 deposit would
be to take advantage of a mistake. Doesn't all professional gambling
do that?

Was the River Palms deuces play the 102% machines that had the full pay
table with natural (4OAK and SF) paying extra? We played them after
they were posted here. Wife got a royal and I got a couple of sets of
deuces. The machines were old, slow, and had poor graphics.

Yes, the "good old days"....

Good for you. Whether playing VP or roulette I always tell them when
I'm overpaid. Besides, what goes around comes around

Tom, I guess I shoudn't get into the area of moralizing. I wasn't exactly a sweetheart in my pre gambling days. And my first gig in the casinos was hustling credits off abandoned machines. But once I saw the potential of advantage play I knocked off credit hustling, and made a deliberate decision to stay away from anything shady. There's enough heat just doing it the honest way. I wasn't going to give them an easy shot at getting rid of me by doing anything underhanded.

I never saw the game. A friend of mine, T., told me about losing the play after it was posted here. He said it was gone the day after it was posted. He described it as being a Bonus Deuces progressive at 104%+.

I passed on a shady play at River Palms at about that same time. The card was still stong then. They had 10/7 DB for quarters and 50 cents on the same machines. There was a 100 coin quad bonus prono going on. It was the same deck whether playing quarters or 50 cents. You could hit the quad on quarters then switch to 50 cents and get twice the bonus. A gaming agent happened to be in surveillance one day and seen a known cheat playing the game. Of couse the agent informed security as to what was going on. Everyone involed got 86'd.
