ultimate x poker

People regularly fish for progressives, they definitely scan games for better pay tables, so why would anyone have any problem with someone who's looking for any machine that's been left in any mode for any reason? Someone will eventually be playing the next hand or ten. All casinos want is for those hands and more to be played.

It's +ev with the caveat that you don't make the side wager.

So if you see a game with multipliers left over, play the 5cr/hand to claim the multiplier, and then leave.

Note that operators generally frown heavily on multiplier fishing, so keep that in mind if that's a concern for you.

I have read that if someone leaves a multiplier on this it is a +ev play to play it. By that same logic, you would keep playing the machine until you leave no multipliers for the next hand. I saw a machine in Imperial Palace that was 6/5 JOB triple play... with such a bad paytable is it still a +ev play? I am leaning towards yes because even a 2x multiplier would send the royal into such a positive state the bad paytable wouldnt matter. Opinions? experiences?

You'd think action would be all casinos would want, but in reality the
people who run casinos seem to be allergic on principle to anyone on their
property who can get any edge whatsoever.

Also potential negatives for tolerating slot and VP wonging:

1. The wongers will take the money off the property. Randoms patrons who
play the machines will likely put the gained EV back into the machine.
2. Wongers can cross the line and interact negatively with other patrons.
3. If a casino wants to create an upscale atmosphere, the presence of some
wonger types could tend to detract from that.
IMO it's silly to watch the machines like a hawk looking for people doing
this, but if security sees the same guy day in and day out banging on the
wongable machines, I would understand why they might ask him to leave.

Ed, I couldn't agree more. I recall when all the old IGT wongables (Cherry Pie, Thermometer, Racing 7s, etc.) vanished virtually overnight from my area. It certainly wasn't due to lack of play - these machines were hugely popular with the general public. The only logical explanation I could think of at the time was that the casinos couldn't stand the thought of some AP making a few bucks from these games.
