Becky, Hi! I assume you mean "play at the track", there isn't a
hotel at present, but in the past( long time now) i had heard that
Harrah's had plans to build one or at least wanted to. Harah's still
offers partner offer near by, but they are all driving distances. I
believe that Harrah's LA Downs has been reducing thier pay table now
that the grand opening is over, 'cause of a few that i played are
not, .. not so good! For sure one $1 Super Aces is no longer
playable and the Double Double Bonus has gone from 99something down
to 98 something ( think it the 3/5 play dollar game). PICK-EM is
still there at 25 cent but not much else in the FPVP quarters range.
They have a nice Diamond lounge and high limit area, which still has
9/6 JB and NSU Dueces at $5 and $20. Haven't check the rest of the
games on those MG though.
They have some SpinPoker and Multistrike as well as Big Split VP
games, however i didn't see any good JB or Deuces so i assume that
the rest of the games are in the same catagory? One of these days i
need to canvas that place and make notes of just what is there and
what is above 99% It kinda of a hoot that the State won't allow
games better than 99%, What is up with that?
Boomtown hasn't change as far as i know.
Hollywood has added some VP MG machines as mention, but again if
there isn't any 9/6 Jacks or NSU i don't think their worth anything?
Still the best there is 8/5/4 Super Aces in 3/5/10 plays. There is
also some new Multi Strike, once again nothing good there? The Bonus
poker Progressive was at $6400? when we were there the 17, needs to
be somewhere aroung $9000 to put it over 100%
Sam's Town hasn't change either as far as i can see, it is just the
way Harrah's left it! The best game there is 9/6 JB w. 3125RF at the
$5 level. It's not below the 99% mark, but if you wanted to play $5
JB play at the Downs their is still a 4000 coin RF.
Horeshoe is one i haven't been in in a long time, since it became a
VP waste land. Even so, now that Harrah's owns it we started getting
mail offer from there.
I like either the Boomtown for selection or the Hollywood because it
is nice to play and stay in. I play some at the Downs, but it is
kinda of a pain since there is no hotel. We will play and stay at
Sam's too. Then we can walk over to get our Starbuck fix in the
morning. Them there $5 games are killing me this year,( don't have
the bankroll for that level you see).
Good luck!

We've never been to Shreveport and are planning to drive up there
soon. Is this some sort of interim period where Harrah's still
owns
race track but also owns the old Binion's?
I'm assuming we want to stay at the racetrack - are the good $
games
···
still there? Anything new pop up in the last 6 mos?
