Twenty Dollars equal Ten On VP Machine?

Howdy

I recently thought a put a twenty into a vp machine and ten bucks in credit
appeared. I counted my bankroll and verified I was a twenty short. I got an
attendant who checked the scoundrel and showed me where the machine had
recorded I had put in a tenski . I chalked it up to the early stages of senility.
A short time later I put in a twenty which should register 80 credits on a
.25er. Ninety points popped up.

Is it possible that this gadget was having an ID monetary problem or was I
once again imagining things ? I could have had ten credits on the machine
when I inserted my twenty...but I swear I saw a goose egg moments before...HELP.

I believe its possible to find a machine that gives you 90 for 80. I also think I have a better chance of getting back to back royals in spades than this. Pity the poor silver miners out there who do a daily search for their pot of gold, inserting 20 into machine after machine after machine - hoping for a malfunction of any kind - THEN - its grifter time!

best wishes...Tom

of course the machine "recorded" you put in a ten

what you needed to do was have them physically look at the last bill
inserted or do a camera check

something they may or may not be able to do, depends on dropbox
procedures and camera procedures

you need to be very sure before you challenge them on something like
this, if they can prove your claim wrong, they will suspect you of
attempted fraud, which no doubt goes on your record, worse case they
may arrest you right then and there

multidenom is fairly complex, therefore lots of problems/errors

A couple of years ago I was playing at El Cortez (before being
trespassed there). I fed a $100 bill into an IGT $1 video poker
machine. The machine only registered 20 credits instead of 100. I
contacted a floor person and told them that I was pretty sure, but
not positive, that I had inserted a $100 bill instead of a $20
bill. A mechanic and I think a security guard were called. They
removed the money box and with the use of a flashlight were able to
see the top bill was a hundred. They immediately did a handpay for
the $80 difference. What surprised me was their nonchalant
attitude, like it was a common occurance, and the fact that they
made no adjustment to the machine nor did they place it out of
service. They allowed me to continue playing the machine and walked
away.

It's absolutely possible that the bill validator could be having
problems. A couple of years ago at the COPA (RIP) in Gulfport, I fed
two $100 bills to a dollar VP machine, and just before I started to
play I saw that I only had 150 credits. I knew with complete certainty
what had happened, because I never, ever carry $50 bills with me. I
called a slot tech over and explained what had happened. He actually
told me that "this machine does that all the time". He checked the
screen, and it said the last bill received was a $50. He then checked
the actual bill box, and saw that a $100 was on top. He manually ran
$50 of coins from the hopper into the tray to make up the difference,
so I did get all my money without too much hassle. But you have to
wonder how many people might have fed $100 into the same machine, never
noticed the difference, and thought "wow, that 100 dollars sure seemed
to go quickly".
