TV coverage. Was: Re: FPDW at Wynn

"Heresy" and "Truth" are not mutually exclusive!

What you say below is absolutely true.

It is why, ideally, we (knowledgeable players) should encourage the
uneducated "hordes" to play full pay machines, but not teach them HOW to play them!
With very few exceptions ("loss leaders," like the 25c FPDW progressive at the
Palms), the casino must "hold" a certain amount per machine, or eventually
that machine will be removed, or the paytable shorted.

This is why the dollar FPDW probably cannot last long at Wynn--they are ONLY
(or at least 99%) getting skilled play. It is hard for me to believe that
Wynn will accept a loss of $6000+/day on these machines, just for the "good
press" it might generate. Hopefully, I am wrong! There are still those in the
business of running casinos who blindly believe that play=profit, and
bigplay=bigprofit! If someone like that is "in charge" of Wynn's VP inventory, I
suppose it's possible the machines could be around for some time. But I truly
doubt it!

I have heard/seen several players as they switched around to various other games when they were playing these machines - DB and even 9/6 JoB. So even some people who call themselves advantage players don't always stick to the best games, even on the same machine. So it doesn't surprise me any when ploppies switch games all the time trying to find a game where they can get lucky. Hopefully enough of those players will get on the machines to increase the casino's profit.

Guys, you're starting to catch on. Bob's problem, IMHO, is that it
wasn't good enough for him to be the most proficient VP talent
around-he wanted to be the ONLY VP talent around. I realize hitting a
$100 RF is the equvalent of climbing Everest. Still, if the guy had
any brains, he would have come up with a better next move. I have
never considered him more than an average plus talent who got lucky in
the right place and time. Lots of guys have made more than he has.

This is where we are with VP right now. Last I heard, Bob was teaching
senior citizens to play Triple Deuces for Stations. That's right,
teach people who are on fixed incomes to play a game with 92-coin
variance. That's just plain evil and irresponsible, if you ask me.

Protecting a VP section is hardly rocket science.

I could not agree more. He is the biggest reason for the decline of good games.
