Any comments on the 1 hour promotion? I somewhat expected this to
happen so I wasn't that surprised. Still, you wonder what they were
thinking ...

Dick

Can you provide some details of this one hour promotion?

Thanks,
Don the Dentist

Actually, it was a 75 min promotion. The house ran really bad on this
one. Everyone was playing TDB or SAB, and it seemed like everyone hit
within the first half -(double jackpot) cycle. The SAB was the better
play, but those machines got locked up early. One number I heard was
$70K. It's 11am out here and I'm still not sure everyone got paid yet
lol.

if you're running a store and advertise an insanely good one-day sale
on some particular item, and then it turns out you only have one in
stock or decide to cancel the sale five minutes after you open, you
can get in trouble for that.

pity this doesn't apply to casinos.

anyway, as my first exposure to a vegas-style descent-of-locusts, it
was pretty amusing. at least i ran good and made back my plane fare.

cheers,

five

If it was a true descent of Vegas locusts, you'd never have gotten on
(but neither would I).

I almost wish I hadn't gotten on. Most of the multi-player teams
fared well since one or more of the players was almost sure to hit.
For an individual it was a bad deal when it got cut short. I only got
in 1200 hands and I didn't hit one of the required hand pays. Still
who wouldn't take the chance with a return of over 109% on the SAB.

This was the "play" I mentioned a few weeks ago. Double payoffs up to
$2K for any handpay at denoms of $1 and lower.

A friend called to tell me about this one (for a change - I rarely hear
about good things coming) and I almost went, but midnight is a bit late
for me and I figured all the pros would be descending en mass. The
problem with promotions like this is that they end quite quickly
(though 75 min might be a new record), pros and teams arrive early and
grab all the good machines, and most regular folks never even hear
about it til it is all over.
With all handpays paying double up to $2000, it sounded like "too
good to be true" and thus too good to last. Probably even reels and
keno were worth playing.

This has nothing particular to do with this promotion, but Tuscany has
the three most popular versions of BP, DB and DDB Aces and Faces in
25c, 50c and $1 between the Mexican restaurant and the poker room.
These have been there a long time. Might want to add them to the
database.

There were machines open, and Keno was excluded from the promo. I'm
sure there were some excellent $1 denom reels plays, too ($1 highest
denom for the promo allowed). One sharpie actually put out an
over/under line for the promo of 90 mins. Not a bad line in
retrospect, either.

I am not sure why so many people here have said this play was secret
or somehow hard to find out about. I got a mailer that gave the
basics. Too bad keno was banned. A five spot offers about a 44% edge.
