We play so fast that we don't check the "pay" on any hand unless it is a very big one.

well if you are playing fast that would indicate great memory
recall...knowing several vp games is excellent mental exercise and
should be an asset at warding off disease...

I tout VP as a preventive measure for developing Alzheimer's - or at least for pushing off the time it comes! That's my "excuse" and I'm sticking to it!!!! :slight_smile:

Recently Marilyn Von Horne answered a question on this topic. The
question was if doing crossword puzzles stimulates the brain to the
extent of slowing down an attack of Alzheimer's disease.

She said that while doing crosswords is beneficial in this respect,
what you should do is engage in different kinds of activities; not
intensely pursue one type of activity. That made sense.
