Same thing happened to me, but with a twist. My wife and I were each
getting $40, putting through $10,000 per month. We heard from
knowledgeable sources that this was overkill and that $6,000 a month
was sufficient to get $40. We both cut down to $6,500 through in
September and October. Today we got the mailers. I was cut to $25
but she maintained her $40. I will try to get an explanation at the
slot club next time I am there.

It may be that you are leaving your card in during the free play and
that is lowering your average.

Slot club personnel are clueless about bounceback. Most are clueless
about how their own slot system works.
I know the marketing director there pretty well - and she is "fiddling" with the bounce-back every month. So you can't necessarily know the exact requirement from one month to another. I think it is too early to tell what this new Free Play collection routine might have on bounce-back.
We have found that the twice monthly "mystery" free play drawing that comes on a card mailer to be quite good - we even make a special trip to do it sometimes. Yes, we have gotten $3 and $5 and figured we wasted our time. But there seem to be a lot of medium amounts - $15-$25 - we have gotten them often too. And last week Brad got $100. There is one $1000 one in the drum and they will tell you if you ask if it has been pulled yet - not that this will help you any except to raise or lower your hopes!!!!
