Turning Stone NY

I visited the Turning Stone casino near Syracuse NY on Sunday and can
elaborate a bit on the database info.

The full-pay $5 JoB has been joined by a few $25 games outside the
high-limit poker area. A nearby bank of $1 3/5/10 play machines had
9/5 JoB paytables, as did the rows of $1 single line JoB located in
several places on the floor. The quarter games were all 8/5 or worse,
and I recall seeing some at 7/5 (they may have been nickel games).
There were some banks of odd-looking lower-denomination VP/Keno
machines that may or may not have been VLTs, but I didn't investigate
these closely as they tended to be occupied (while the better-paying
machines sat mostly empty!) I've read claims here that the VP at
Turning Stone is not random but the games I played certainly seemed
above-board to me. I don't see why they would bother to post short
paytables that decline in line with the denomination if the games
weren't real VP.

In sum, there's certainly nothing here to get excited about VP-wise
but it might be worth a stop if you happen to be in the area and need
a VP fix. (I had to be in nearby Utica for other reasons.) It was
certainly worthwhile in my case - I hit a $4000 royal after 4-5 hours
of playing the $1 multiline and $5 JoB (losing about $500 excluding
the royal) and earned enough comp points ("Karats") to exchange for a
$180 camera and a tankful of gas. A booth off the floor offers a wide
range of merchandise in exchange for Karats and they were running a 1
Karat to 1$ gas promotion for anyone who played 2 hours of slots or
VP.(Apparently it's normally 2 to $1.)

I would note that my friend and I both had lots of trouble with our
debit slot cards (brand new in my case). After they repeatedly failed
in numerous machines, we had them replaced at the counter and they
still failed to read quite often.

It is an Indian casino. The machines play as they do in Nevada.
