The database shows the following:
Horseshoe - 9/6 JOB .25/.50/1.00
Goldstrike - 9/6 JOB .50
Can anyone verify if these machines exist, and where are they
located?
Thanks,
Les in Fla.

I used to go to the Horseshoe all of the time -- just about every trip -- and I can't remember ever seeing 9/6. There might have been some .50 or 1.00 machines on the floor that I just didn't notice, because I only play quarters and would not have paid much attention to those denominations. I can say, with considerable confidence, that there are NO quarter JoB machines on the floor anywhere; they are only at the bar. All of the quarter machines on the floor are wild card or bonus games of one sort or another. Now, at all three bars they had 8/5 progressives IIRC, in both quarter and dollar machines, although they sneaked in a lower pay machine here and there (this was one reason why my wife and I sometimes had to have an empty chair between us). HOWEVER, in the fall or early winter, Horseshoe _GUTTED_ their JoB down to ... hold your breath ... 6/5 on every machine at every bar -- including even their dollar machines -- and they were still like that about 5 or 6 weeks ago during my last visit. I've expressed my great disappointment to the bartenders, and they have indicated to me that everyone is complaining. I now refuse to play there. We always liked the place because of their buffet. We're going to be in Tunica next Tuesday and Wednesday, but I don't know if we'll even bother going to Horseshoe. If we do, I'll just play a little single coin Blackjack and pay for our buffets.
Goldstrike - 9/6 JOB .50
Visited 5 or 6 weeks ago, and they are horrible, too. Couldn't find a 9/6 in the whole place, but I was only checking the quarter machines, so I don't know what is available in .50 or 1.00. On the floor, all I could find were 7/5 ... or maybe they were 7/6 ... but I was surprised to find that the machines at the one bar that was opened (other was roped off) actually had better odds -- I think they were JoB-8/5 ... but maybe that's just because they hadn't gotten around to gutting them yet.
If I happen to check those places, I'll post new info. I play JoB-9/6 at Hollywood, which incidentally recently cut their number from six machines down to three. Harrahs still has some, as of my last visit, but getting a meal has always been like pulling teeth, and now they have a new rewards system in operation there that is simply ridiculous (you get a buck off of the price of the buffet for each one-hundred points that you earn). Scratch them off my list, too. Couldn't find any decent JoB anywhere else in Tunica, either, but maybe I didn't look hard enough. The Sheraton, just a few steps next door to Horseshoe, did have some nickel JoB-8/5, IIRC; Hollywood removed all of their nickel vp machines last year.
VP seems like its going downhill everywhere, faster and faster. I'm about ready to find a new hobby, and have been studying Texas Hold'em.
Cheers.

Both the Shoe and GStrike are VP wastelands. The best play between
the 2 casinos would be the (2) .25 9/6 DDB progressives at the Shoe.
There is NOTHING at GStrike to play.

hard
enough.
There are a few .25 9/6JB machines at the Fitz (second floor). Sams
has $1 9/6JB bartops at the lounge on the 1st floor.
The Sheraton, just a few steps next door to Horseshoe,
Sheraton has 9/6JB in .50 and $1 at the top of the escalator on 2nd
floor.
Hope this helps

Like video poker? Don't bother with Tunica. There's simply not enough decent stuff
available. Sad to say, too, because I love Tunica otherwise -- better table games,
better comps. But for VP in Mississippi, you're better off on the Coast.

They're old machines, but they're playable.

Neither of these casinos have 9/6 JoB anymore.
The DataBase has been updated.
Updates/corrections are appreciated to keep the
DataBase current and accurate.
