Tunica Roadhouse Casino closing

Just got an email stating that the casino will be closing on Jan 31 2019.

Not surprising, even on weekends the place isn’t busy.

Hotel will remain open as they have finally been partially refurbishing the rooms (new furniture) and had expanded the food options and even had room service but I’m guessing that will also be going away.

I’m moderately surprised … my RH offers unexpectedly strengthened for December and, while I won’t be visiting next month, it piqued my attention and had me looking to stop in during January (the first time in over a year)…

Well, maybe they sweetened RH offers in December so that people didn’t stop playing there prematurely once the closure notice was released …

I expect they’ll maintain the hotel for overflow guests from H/S. You wouldn’t imagine they would have much need for that, but in something like August we booked in at the last minute and my host apologized, saying we would be booked in at the Roadhouse. Turned out they gave us a suite (replete with D/R, bar, and pool table). It was a novelty I had no complaints about.

Not surprised at all. What do you get when you cut comps free play They have virtually no food outlets. I suspect there will be one or more closing. About one months ago I did walkthrough of the casino’s with exception of Horseshoe and Goldstrike. Places were empty. I live 30 minutes away and have not gambled there in two years. Save money I would lose over there and go to Vegas every 2-3 months. Sans town has 9/6 JOB and that is about the only playable booker in area. Southland is no diff but food and comps are better. Seems they have learned from what has happened in Tunica. Did they really think people would keep coming with decreased comps free play and poor food as well.
