I have never been to Vegas but I can tell you the casinos in Tunica
are not like riverboats such as the ones in the St. Louis area. The
casinos are on barges but you would never know this unless you know
what to look for. There are no admission charges for any casinos.
Drinks are free if you are playing.
Yes, your status in Vegas will help you in Tunica. The Gold Strike
is a very nice hotel with 2 other casinos in walking distance-
Horseshoe and Sheraton-both owned by Harrah's. The rooms are getting
to be a little worn but are clean and comfortable. I have never had
a problem with rooms at the GS and usually stay there 3 or 4 times a
year. Others have made comments on the condition but I have found
them to be great and we uually stay at Sheraton's, Marriot's, etc.
when we travel. Comps have been fairly easy to acquire in Tunica if
you are an average player. There has been some tightening of comps
with all the changes going on but so far we haven't had a problem.
For more information on Tunica please check out tunica-ms.com Lots
of great info on that site.

Hello all,
Looking for some information and advice for Tunica. Never been
there,
but we will be spending the week btw Christmas/New Year's with
relatives in Nashville, and might do an overnight road trip to
Memphis/Tunica.
tunicamiss.org describes the casinos there as "Vegas-style." Is
this
completely truthful? Are they all land-based operations, or are
they
riverboats like Indiana (as in, do they charge admission)?
Also, we go to Vegas frequently (as if my screen name isn't a
giveaway), and we are dedicated to MGM-Mirage. Any opinions good-
bad-
otherwise regarding Gold Strike, and does our status in LV have
any
···
effect on what we may or may not be able to get in Tunica?
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
