I have received good advice from this group and as a new member and a relatively new vp player, all your advice is greatly appreciated. I have been playing vp for a year now and have been to LV twice. The first time I hit a RF playing $1 Deuces Wild at the Bellagio and the second time I didn't do very well. I play a little bit where I live (near Chicago), but the river boats are not that great. As recommended, I have bought numerous books, 2 software prograns and Bob Dancer's strategy cards. I have learned a lot, so last week, I went to Tunica, MS and really enjoyed myself. The people give you plenty of southern hospitality, the food is great, our suite at the Sheraton was perfect, they were generous with comps, and the vp is awesome. We were there 4 days and 3 nights and I hit 2RFs playing DDB at the Gold Strike. If any of you have a chance to travel down south, I definitely recommend Tunica. Also, join Tunica-VP for $25.00/yr. Buy everything by Bob Dancer, books included, except his strategy cards.
Video Poker Strategy Master is better in MHO. Linda Boyd markets VPSM as well as
WinPoker which is good also so buy both from her. Get everything by Jean
Scott, books and software. Dan Paymar has a beta thing, check that out. Avoid
like the plague anything from a guy who's a name sounds like Blob Dinger. He's
a complete fraud. But wait. You might be him setting us up for a long and
boring martingale thread with your name constantly in subject lines.
The main thing. Don't be a cheapskate who thinks he can save money by not
buying any software then asking the list for strategy changes if a slight
variation of a paytable comes up. You have to spend hours and hours practicing on
a computer trainer to learn and play fast. Fast accurate play is good better
best.
Oh please don't be a "Blob Dinger" alias and ask, "If I play one coin short
pay Dollars for a short time, knowing the random streak will soon be in my
favor is it better than long time full coin quarter "infinity" full pay if I
...... bla bla bla"
