Just got back late last night from two days in Tunica. Didn't have any
luck at all. In fact, this was the most expensive trip for me in
memory, although I'm still very satisfied. Room and all meals were
comped, and between my wife and I, we only spent about $160 or so, and
that includes tip money, too. My wife was having much better luck, so
_I_ was the one who lost nearly all of that, and it was disappointing
when I can still remember my trip a couple of months ago when I only
spent only about $30 in two days, including tip money. Oh well, we
still had a great time and it was cheap entertainment.
Now, about the vp; all we play is JoB, so I never checked the inventory
for other games.
Hollywood still has only 3 JoB-9/6 uprights (quarters) ... still in the
same place; the bars still have JoB-8/5 progressives. I forgot to check
the Multistrike paytables to see if they have improved; the last I
checked, they were not worth playing, although I can't recall now
exactly what they were.
Horseshoe is still a disgrace re JoB. As far as I could tell, all of
their machines are still only JoB-6/5, which is what they were reduced
to about a year or so ago. Even the Multi-strike is JoB-6/5.
I am happy to confirm the report posted by someone else, a month or so
ago, that Goldstrike (right next door to the Horseshoe) has, indeed,
upgraded their bar machines to include JoB-9/6. That's right -- quarter
JoB-9/6 with the comfort and room and convenience at the bar; that is my
new favorite casino. The multi-strike still has JoB-7/5.
Cheers.

Also, I'm almost positive that I remember being told by the slot club that Gold Strike has double points days on Tuesdays, which might work out pretty good whenever I can make it there on those days. I just asked again at the slot club at Horseshoe and was told that they don't have any multiple point days at all. I don't know about Sheraton; any idea? I don't _think_ Hollywood has any either, or at least not that I've ever heard about. As usual, the buffet at Horseshoe was _excellent_.
