If there is a nickel video poker player in your party, the Grand is the
only place to play. The Gamemakers on the second floor have 99.02% Double
Bonus and 98.82% Four Play (a slightly enhanced version of Bonus Deluxe)
These machines have a cashback rate of .66%. This, plus liberal comps,
makes this a decent play. (Of course you have to run through $1500 to earn
300 points to get your initial $10.00 cashback).
The other video poker machines at the Grand have a cashback of .33%.
Aces and Faces is the featured quarter game. (8/5 Bonus poker that plays
more for face cards instead of 2, 3, and 4). The buffet at the Grand has
improved greatly, but Harrah's is still probably number one, although we
like the buffet at Sam's Town, too.
Hollywood is my second choice for playing, with their quarter 9/6 jacks
or better. Their diner from the 60's is a good place to grab a sandwich for
lunch.
Sam's Town has tightened up their video poker and I can't find
anything there that I enjoy. I certainly miss the Bally Multigame Machines
they used to have.
