I will have the full details about this gambling seminar up on my website in
a few days, but I wanted to let you know of a frugal discount available for
those who might be interested. If you mention that the Frugal Gambler
recommended this seminar, you get a 20% discount. There will also be

This is a 3-day gambling seminar being set up by Frank Scoblete at the Gold
Strike in Tunica, on November 14-16. There will be a wide choice of
seminars all day long, covering craps, VP, roulette, slots, BJ, tournament
play, comps, slot clubs, etc. In between seminars there will be a chance to
talk individually to the many speakers, which include, among others, Frank
Scoblete, with hands-on practice in controlling the dice; Henry Tamburin,
the BJ expert; John Robinson, covering many different VP games; and yours
truly, talking about VP, slot clubs, comps, and general frugal advice for
the casino player.

Brad and I are looking forward to the opportunity to meet old and new
friends - and if there is enough interest, we will arrange for a mini-meet
for VP players.

No this is not a felony OR a misdemeanor, something like using crooked dice would be, I assume. As long as you follow the casino rules, i.e., hitting the wall, etc. you are not doing an illegal act. There is no rule or law as to exactly how you must pick up the dice, hold them, and throw them.

Now whether a casino can bar you if they think you are doing this is another question - and since most any casino can bar you for any or no reason - this would be a distinct possibility.

I don't think it is impossible for anyone to ever control the dice enough to get an edge in craps. But I think this group is so small that the casinos actually allow these seminars promoting this. I liken it to how many people in the world have the innate skill and the motivation to practice unbelievably long hours to have a chance to get the gold in the Olympics.

VP takes a certain amount of brain power and a whole lot of study and motivation and practice. I think a very small percentage of people have the patience, the discipline, the persistence, and bankroll to be a winning VP player over the long term. I would guess that the number of people who have the natural skill and motivation to practice throwing dice extremely long periods of time to get an edge would be MUCH MUCH smaller. Impossible - no. Easy to do - a big fat NO.

But for some it is fun to try - if they are going to shoot craps anyway. I would not recommend it as the best way for a beginning gambler to choose an advantage game. The seminar covers poker and VP, both of which are "easier" to do, in my opinion.

Definitely keep me in the loop on this one. I'm a frequent visitor
to Tunica (going next weekend) and the Gold Strike is my "Home"
casino there!

That sounds like a lot of fun, because I've read a lot of Harry &
Frank's books over the years. (And I already know what a neat
person you are in person. :~))
