Trop -new BP 8/5 found!

I just played these today, and am now home.

8 uprights near the buffet side of casino, are MGMD w/
8/5 BP in nickels-dimes-quarters, AND 4-7s pay triple signs posted on
the candle tops. Surrounded by various video-slot games, and
SpinPoker Deluxes on the ends (no good games on those).

BE careful - many OTHER BPs and JB games advertising the same promo
are only 7/5 BP and 8/5 JB or worse.

(i.e - all slanttops by poker room that I checked).

These 8 by the buffet are good; however, you will have to fight off
the 'keno' and 'Caveman (SCREECHING) Keno players....

Caboose bartops are also 8/5 BP for .25-.50-c and $1.

PS - FOR LIVE poker players, rake remains LOW and only one $2 blind,
but now HIGH hand bonuses were cut in half!
$500 for Royals; $100 for SFs, $50 for 4-Aces, $25 for all other 4ks.

For those who like poker promos, CB,AVI have better high hand bonuses;
Even RP (only quad Faces, and Royals, though).

Still - their poker is very low-key, and friendly/great atmosphere;
PLUS earn $1.25 hourly (no limit that I'm aware of) in food comps,
added directly on to your slot club card!

Martin.

Just curious - do they still have 8/5 BP with triple on 7's in the $5
level?

Hey Martin and other Laughlin Live Poker players,

I dug up this post 'cause we have a new lurker over here on this
site. Can you give a rundown on your favorite rooms and why?

He is a VP player too. He enjoys doing downtown like alot of us.

So who has the fun rooms?

BS

I have only played Harrah's and that was 18 months ago. Not a bad room.
Separate enough from the casino and windows looking out to the river. High
hand bonuses and I guess they are now linked to a bad beat shared with other
Harrah's properties. I think rake was up to $4, but would have to consult
notes to be sure. At the time they were just running HE games. Low limit,
$1/$2 NLHE and they opened a $2/$5 NLHE during busy nights when there were
requests to do so.

Chandler

A response on RGP to an inquiry I made:
Harrah's has the worst players (if you are any good at NL, taking an
'overs' button is almost like free money).

Riverside is very good for strictly NL action. Colorado Belle, Ramada
Express, and River Palms all have decent action and tournies.

Sorry - I just got back online (after a few weekend trips, I got home
and discovered my PC on the fritz. Fortunately, my bro. set me up on
a useable (i.e. - internet compatible) Apple/Mac - which I HOPE will
remain more friendly.

For LOW LIMIT poker with good promotions, check out EW, Tropicana,AVI,
and even the Riverside (although it's more smoky over there.
ALL of those properties have 2-4 or 2-6 spread limits,
LOW blinds (usually only 1-$2 blind), and various high hand promotions!

Most of them are listed in the Laughlin Entertainer Weekly website.

Harrah's hads 3/6 with a kill; AQ is 4/8 with a kill;
CB is a busy room, with all limits and high hand progressives.

AQ has AA cracked certain times; Harrah's progressives for
4ks/SFs/Royals not as high as CB-EW-- or even the Trop;
However, they are linked to OTHER HET properties with that Mega-Bad
Beat progressive (4k beat by 4k or higher)....

On ANY of these promotions, make sure you know the rules!
Usually $20 min. in the pot; hands must play out to the end.

Both hole cards must play.

BONUS: At EW-CB, there is one random 'quad' of the day that pays
$500. Whatever that quad is, you could possibly win it with Ace-high
as your kicker card, if board has 'trips' of the quad, making Ace-any
sometimes playable ($500 equity!).

Tropicana currently has AA cracked wheel baack!
If you LOSE with AA in your hand, $20 min in the pot,
then you spin a prize wheel worth $40 - $200.
Good deal!

GL,
Martin.
BTW - MOST of the rooms give $1.25/$1 hourly in comps;
TROP - I like the most, bec. they add it directly onto your slot club
card acct! Also - they have a decent $5 sandwich/combo menu or hdog
and chips, if you prefer.

EW-CB - you must get a 'food' voucher, in $1.25 increments, for ea.
hour you play. I never played past 4 hrs, so I don't know if you can
earn more than the $5 coupon.

Trop players more regular; EW tends to get some regulars, but even on
weekends, some will only sit in for $40, if they lose it, they leave.

RIVER PALMS - I haven't played there in quite some time.
$2-6 spread limit, and bonuses on quad Faces/Aces, Royals.

Other properties, I'm not so sure on their comp policies.

Thanks for the poker info, folks. I guess I am the "lurker" I'll be
going up the first week in August. The Colorado Belle seems to emerge
as the favorite. I played there on a one day Vegas bus trip and liked
it so I'll definitely try there. I especially liked the information
that the Trop has more regulars. It is hard to walk into a game if
everyone knows everyone else and plays daily against them. Perhaps in
August and with the gas crunch this is a given everywhere anyway. But
the more I can mix it up, the better chance I have at winning or at
least not getting trapped between a rock and a hard place that knows him.
