triple double bonus

Two coins for trips is normal for this game. The compensation is the huge
payoffs for the kicker hands. 9/7 TDB returns 99.57% with perfect play, but the
variance is highest of any nonprogressive game, over 98. As you say, Yikes!

On every TDB machine I've ever seen 3ok only pays 2 coins, instead of
the usual 3. That drops the payout by at least 8%. The TDB machines
here in KC have payouts around 95%. Yikes.

Exactly. The 9-7-4-2-1-1 paytable is the best we can get, and
apparently is at 99.58%. This is the game I play at the Suncoast, and
just like most higher award VP (DB, DDB, etc.), if you dodn't get at
least some quads, you're in trouble regardless of paytable.

Trouble comes in degrees.

A nice run of DB full houses can keep you afloat reasonably well while
waiting for the next quad.

However, in playing TDB you're giving up 11% (vs. DB) on the non-quad
hands for the sake of those handsome bonuses. Even with a decent
number of quads, an extended session without at least one bonus quad
is likely to see you limp away from the machine.
