Trip report

We stayed at the Sahara for 4 nights in last week. I was unable to
find any FP JOB. The 9/6 had a 2500 coin royal and the rest were
8/5. Food comps were easy to come by and I liked being able to use
my slot card to access my comp account instead of having to go get a
meal comp written each time we wanted to eat.
We also played the MD/MG JOB at NYNY and recieved a meal comp for
about 2 hours worth of .25 and .50 play. We recieved a $45.00 meal
comp. and $23.00 cash back.
We played at the Stardust on the last night. I was unable to find
the .50 machines, but we did find the .25 machines between the poker
room and the high limit area. We played for 3 hours and recieved a
breakfast comp (we couldn't use) and little cash back ($8).
Trip totals-about $30K coin in over 4 days.
I lost $50.00 all VP
She lost $700 slots and some VP
CB=$150
All meals comped, but we paid for the room.

Side note- I played Texas Holdem at the Palms for about 5 hours.
There were typically 5-7 players seeing the flop. Lots of calling,
but very little raising.

Question for the more seasoned Vegas visitors: Based on our play,
would anyone recomend another casino that would provide a better
value whith respect to room offers and meal comps? I only play VP
and live poker.

Better than Sahara? I'm not familiar with Sahara, but in my experience (and I'm not saying anything new here) LVH, MSS have some strong positives for the tourist at your level of play.

Did you check the location shown in the DataBase:

25c/50c/$1 MG/MD 9/6 JoB bartops @ the long rectangle bar
near the main cage.

Stardust on the last night. I was unable to find the .50 machines, but
we did find the .25 machines between the poker room and the high limit

The DataBase shows (6) 50c 9/6 JoB machines near front door.

I checked both places. I checked all the machines at the Sahara "thirsty
camel" bar- this is the long bar by the main cage. I am not positive about
the Stardust. I just couldn't find any .50 machines near the front doors
after looking for a few minutes.

From the quarter machines, walk east to the Keno area. To your
right, go to the glass entrance doors on the south end of the Keno
lounge. Just inside the doors, you'll find 8 upright .50 9/6 JB
machines in a 4 x 4 bank.

At the level of play you indicate, I would suggest that you should
be playing downtown if you want to score meaningful comps (free
rooms and some food). Plaza and LV Club come to mind.

Oops! Six in a 3x3 arrangement. Must be the medications! Buon
sera!

I don't think many Vegas poker rooms will give you much credit for
comps (unless you play at high levels?).

For vp - comps are decent downtown (any of the Boyd properties - Main
St Station, Fremont, and California). All 3 have JoB 9/6 game .25 to
$1 levels.

Martin.
