4 day trip right after river run. Highlights of trip:
Sunday - Vegas to Laughlin ride is beautiful. No trucks and 75 limit.
Big electronic sign at turnoff near railroad pass warning truckers to
expect congestion in Boulder City and to head to Laughlin and go 50 miles out of their way. Yea, right.
Lot's of Bikes heading to Vegas.
Monday - Aquarius - Fairly quiet. All cleaned up after RR.
Royal and quad run - Ahead $6K. Go 2 bank to put cash in safe place:-)
Meet buyer's agent for house hunting in Bullhead.
Have dinner with friends at Outback. Discuss tarantulas, water softeners, wind, heat, sunrises, sunsets and 4WDrving in the outback.
Tuesday - Gambling lose $2K - notice the cafeteria closed most times.
Make offer on house off the BH Parkway. 10 minutes from Laughlin and 100 minutes from Henderson. Drive through Laughlin residential area.
Looks run-down compared to last year. Can't quite put my finger on it.
Power failure Laughlin-wide while packing to leave. 15th floor but one elevator still working and public was allowed to use. Got to casino floor and 100's people waiting for their tickets. Maybe 1 percent of machines were working.
Beautiful sunset ride to Green Valley Ranch.
Wednesday - Gamble in morning and down $2K. Have to go to bank.
Switch to 9/6 TP DDB and get Royal and two quad aces/kicker. Go figure.
Host stops by to introduce himself. We like GVR and used to get invited to awesome tournaments but that was a long time ago in another dimension of VP.
Red eye back to Boston on Wednesday night. Jet Blue has been good.
Ahead $7K which was most welcome after $20K loss last year (first losing year since started gambling). Back home on Thursday and counter-offer from homeowner. We are apart by $20K. They are underwater by $30K. Couple in their 70's.
They want to go back home after 7 years in the desert. For us, Boston sucked this Winter. But we don't plan to be in Southwest in summer. Back to New England for a few months each year or gambling venues like Reno/Tahoe.
63 last month - time to have fun.
