Trip Report

We went to Laughlin on a comped junket from the Flamingo (even
though we had never even stepped a foot in the place previous). Got
our room (which actually wasn't bad), free tickets to the rodeo (no
interest here... so didn't go), and free tickets to the Doobie
Brothers concert. We did not stay in the room at the Flamingo...
only went there for the concert and put $80 through the 25c 10/7DB.
Lost it quick. The concert was disappointing... wanted to hear the
good old stuff, but they were "pushing" their new album... so that
was what they played for the most part.

Stayed in a suite at the EW which was very nice. Highlight there
was when I was playing the MGMD in the high limit area. 2 of the 4
machines were shut down the entire time there. Anyway... I bounced
back and forth between 10/7DB and 10/6DDB playing $1's. For
a "kick" I decided to play $100 through at the $2 level on DDB.
Luck was with me and on my 4th hand I was dealt quad 4's. Pulled
the kicker for a saweeeet $1600!!

The next day was disastrous. Played RP, CB, and EW. Pumped in
benji's like crazy and only saw a few quads. Losses for that day
were $1500.

Last day spent entirely at the RP. My friend and I got comfy at the
50c machines. He played DDB, I played DB. He hit like crazy on that
machine all weekend. Loads of hand pays and hopper fills. I
struggled to hang in there. It is frustrating (to say the least) to
be with someone who plays less than 100% games and hits like crazy
while you are playing 100%+ games and losing bad. In the last 30
minutes we were there (before leaving for the airport) he hit bonus
quads with a kicker 2x and a RF. I finally hit A's... waited all
weekend and got 'em 2x in 3 hands. Go figure.

Had Granny's famous Sunday Brunch. It was good, but not really my
kind of meal. They had a delicious cold soup made with coconut and
pineapple. The crab legs were entirely flavorless... never had
flavorless crab legs before. The waitress was excellent.

Sidenotes: The EW has a gorgeous guy singing while "dealing"
(spinning) the Big Wheel near the High Limit area. He was very good
and fun to listen to while I played the vp machines near him.
Darned fun to look at too : )
Also... I wish more of those cowgirls would cover their midrifts...
cannot believe all the flab I saw that weekend. It is NOT
attractive, imho.

In the end, I won $475 and my cohort won $3k. No clue when I will
be back in Laughlin as I only go when I get free junkets. So, we
will see what the mail brings.......

Cowboy (Rodeo) week definitely turns Laughlin into a different crowd.
I like that the casinos let their employees dress up, some really get
into the spirit.

So you found the Bonus Frenzy/High Limit area at EW. Those two Game
Kings have been "out of service" for over a month. One wonders why?
I wish EW would just turn down the volume on the din.

So was the plane full of PPE/Caesers Entertainment folks? Did the
Flamingo handle the ground transportation/baggage/check-in
efficiently?

I guess you played outside the Bermuda Club at RP? Nothing like a
couple of late hits to make the ride home alot smoother.

That was quite an offer from the Flamingo: air/rooms/rodeo/Doobies.
It sounds like you will probably not get anymore offers from them
with the limited action you gave the Flamingo. I was glad to hear the
Doobie Bros. concert was a disappointment (?). As a veteran of many
of their concerts, I was feeling bad that I was unable to put
together a trip to see them in Laughlin. The last concert I went to
they tried one of their new songs, and no one seemed to care for it.
Bring on the older, better stuff. Glad to hear you came out ahead on
the trip. I think you had a bad one last month. Sorry I missed you
on your March trip by one day.
