just returned from my favourite city with a lot of money. And the best thing
is, it happened the the second time within a year.
SHORT VERSION
A year ago I stayed 10 days in Vegas and until the last day I had a minus of
about $200. And then I played a Triple Play DDB machine. After 3 x A with a
kicker, two Royals, dealt 4's with a kicker and numerous 4 of a kind I
finished the evening dead drunk and with about $5000 in my wallet.
This time I flew to Vegas, put my luggage in my room and decided to put
$20 in a DW maschine and 9 hours later I was up about $1200. 4 days later I
had about $4500. I hit 3 royals and 13 x 4 deuces within that time frame.
When I checked the Benjamins yesterday, I counted 52.
LONG VERSION
First some things about myself. I come to the holy city about 3 or 4 times.
I used to play JOB, Pick'Em, DB and BP with mixed results, but about 1,5
years ago a fellow gambler convinced me to take up DW. I also sometimes drop
(depending how the trip looks moneywise) some C-Notes to the dreaded
short pay machines called DDB. (I think even the most serious gambler does
that from time to time <g>). I play about 8 hours per day, sometimes longer.
My favourite Casinos are the MSS where I have gold card status and BC where
I usually get my room comped . MSS added some DW maschines last November,
Barbary Coast has them for years.
I stayed the first 5 nights at MSS, then 2 nights at Palace Station and the
last 4 nights at BC.
I convinced my boss to leave me alone for 12 days so I got into a plane and
flew from Frankfurt via San Francisco to Las Vegas. The flight from SF to LV
was extremly rocky and when the Captain announced after 55 minutes 'Flight
attendents please prepare for landing" I told the girl that sat beside me "I
hope that is not an emergency landing". I got a frightened stare<g>. Anyway,
the plane landed safely and I met the limousine guy from the MSS. It's fun
to drive to your hotel in a limousine but it would be more fun when you had
some Pamela Anderson look-a-likes with you.<g> But I won't complain.
After the long flight I was really tired but I had to play. I usually lose
money during the first 3 or 4 days of my trips before I hit a RF but this
time it was different.
I got 13(!) times 4 deuces within 4 days (playing time about 32 hours) and
hit 3 RF on top on that. I played the Multiplay maschines that are located
near the bar. This maschines have DW and a lot of short pay games like
Triple Bonus Poker, super-duper Bonus Poker etc.
There was always(!) a free seat and almost all of the people who played
these machines used the right strategy. I met a nice guy from Chicago who
had two Royals while I was sitting right beside him. ( I really HATED that
<g>).
I don't know why people complain about the demise of DW maschines in some
casinos because most of the time I could have played all three of them the
same time. There must be a lot of 102% maschines around because otherwise
everybody would play at MSS if you count in the scratch cards.
Speaking of scratch cards, this time I got A LOT of $2 some $3 and a few $5
cards. I used to average about $3 but it is down to $2.50. During my last 6
trips I also got $10 $20 $50 and one $100 scratch card. This time none of
those showed up.
During my last day of playing at MSS a slot technican showed up and put the
speed
of the other two maschines to excrutiating slow. And that just for the DW
game.
I hope they will think about this because with this speed they are now
unplayable.
After I hit my second royal I went up to my room to call my wife to tell her
the good news (she is always sweating like a dog in a chinese restaurant
when I'm in Vegas because she doesn't like the fact that you have to feed
the maschines with hard earned money. But she still permits it<g>). After
that I went back to my lucky maschine and low and behold, I hit another
Royal. Two in 30 minutes!! It took a while until my jaw was back in the
right position.
4 days and I was up about $4500. I really thought about flying back early
because I already surpassed every win goal I imagined before my trip. NOOOOT
I decided to play conservatively the remaining days. I set a loss limit of
$300 a day and stuck with it. The next 4 days I reached that limit. Playing
times were between 2 and 12 hours. I didn't hit a Royal and just 2 times 4
deuces. But I got my share of Wild Royals and 5 of a kind.
After my stay at the MSS I moved to Palace Station. I can only recommend
this casino. It has very nice rooms (with Internet access via TV) and a big
sportsbook area.
The only downturn so far is that they have no cashback.
I was introduced to a slot host who I asked to comp my room. He told me to
look into it. I haven't seen my credit card bill so I don't know the result
yet. What are the conditions anyway? I washed about $23000 through their DW
maschines in two days.
After I got settled at the BC I went to the Fun Club Booth to get a new
card. I read about a 4 of a kind promotion that gave you 3 tickets for a
drawing that night. I hit 33 natural 4 of a kind that day but no f...
Deuces. I couldn't believe it!! That was the story of the weekend. I hit the
4 deuces 2 times and had 95 natural 4 of a kind during that time. What are
the odds of that?? But I hit another royal (#4). (None of my tickets was
drawn either)
One funny thing at the BC is the guy they call BIG Elvis. I wonder if there
is an obese Elvis
around?<g> It was fun to listen to him! But my favorite part is still Monday
night Karaoke.
I was really tempted to sing the French national anthem.<g>
