Just got back from a 4 day trip to Vegas with the whole family
(including my 8 and 10 year olds). My wife and I wondered how it
would work taking the kids, and it turned out great! The kids had a
blast. I did a bunch of stuff with the munchkins while my wife did
most of the gambling. There were many things for them to do. I
took them to the Adventure Dome at Circus Circus, they loved that.
We all went out to Red Rock canyon, that was a real cool place. If
any of you have never visited there, check it out next time your in
Vegas. It's only about a 20 minute or so drive from the strip, and
it's well worth it. My son and I went on the coaster at New York
New York, that was great as well. Also, the kids got to swim a
little, as the pools were still open because of the 75 degree
weather. We stayed at Santa Fe Station, because they have alot of
stuff for the kids to do, as well as a bunch of full pay video
poker. They have a bowling alley, movie theater, and a place you
can leave the kids called Kids Quest. The Kids Quest is great, you
pay by the hour, like a babysitter, and the kids have a great time
there. They can play video games, sing, play in a large play
structure, eat snacks, drink slushes, and more, all while your
gambling in the casino. Although we stayed at Santa Fe, we spent
most of our time at Texas Station. They have all of the same things
as Santa Fe, but everyone in our family liked it better. Now for
the $$$ part of the trip. While we were at Circus Circus, my wife
went to the Palms to play the full pay dueces wild progressive
machines. On her first $20 she hit the royal for $1140 (yeee-
haaa). We mostly played dueces wild and double bonus the rest of
the time at Texas Station. We got dueces 5 times, aces on double
bonus (dealt) once, and numerous other 4 of a kinds. The grand
total for the trip was plus about $1700. That was great, because it
paid for the whole trip, with a little to spare. I just wanted to
let any parents know, that if you are thinking about taking kids to
Vegas, try it!!! We all had a great time, and the kids did not want
to come home (neither did we). Can't wait to go back!!! Bye all,
and good luck!!!
